Well….no one could take him down and he couldn’t take down anyone either. Seems like every match was 1-0. He was the reason UNL became 285I did see Tab Thacker come to PSU to Wrestle for NC State. I saw him get off the bus and honest to god, the bus moved when he got off the bus. He was 6 ft tall and wrestled at 400+ lbs. He won a lot of matches, and I believe that he won a national championship.
I did think that Joe should have stopped him from getting back on the bus and put him on the field. He would have 0 sacks.....but no one on earth would push him backwards.......
The game is more about athleticism in the trenches. Pass pro is very much about footwork. Most run blocking is zone scheme or pin and pull rather than ISO.I have thought that every PSU team should have at least two Samoans...... they can play OG, NT, C. The powerful low to the body strenth seems like a big help in the trenches. This was a big part to the success of the BYU Team, Washington Huskies, USC etc..........
Sumo wrestler, must admit that I had not thought of that path.....but the lean and the body strength is off the charts.
