Donny is talking about suspending payroll tax by executive order. He believes he has "the power" to do it. Many disagree. Tax laws are written by Congress, not the President.
More importantly, people suffering in this economy are out of work or own businesses that have been hurt by the economy. For the most part, if you have a job that was unaffected by the pandemic you are doing fairly well. Other than political reasons, the election is coming up, I don't understand the purpose of a payroll tax cut at this time. Shouldn't we be spending federal money on people in need?
