in the Big Ten East are all equal and that Penn State will beat tOSU in Columbus in October. It was a clip as they were coming back from a break, so I couldn't tell whether this was from earlier today or from days/weeks ago. Does anyone know whether this was a recent or older prediction?

I know some people here are predicting great things for Penn State this season, but its interesting to hear a national talking head say it. Personally, I'd rather PSU remain the underdog for a while longer.... I do think that Penn State will be undefeated coming into the tOSU game.

It would take Herculean improvement on the o-line and punter to make me believe we could win at the Shoe this year. Having said this, chemistry is an odd duck and 19 year olds can rally with the right environment and luck. I would put PSU's chances at around 20%. Obviously, those odds go up if we see a real running game develop based on solid o-line play and if Hack finally has time to work in the pocket.

I listened to the whole segment yesterday morning and Zarzour wasn't really saying the top 3 teams are "equal" as much as there is more parity there than most would believe. The segment dealt with predicting the B1G East division and both had PSU finishing 3rd.

First up Greg McElroy had there being a very big dropoff after MSU at #2 and PSU going 9-3. Zarzour went next and predicted the OSU upset but went on to say PSU loses to Maryland the following week on a hangover effect and then loses to MSU to finish 10-2.

This of course led to the debate about PSU's OL not matching up with OSU's DL (which I kind of laugh at b/c our OL at their worst last year still took this same OSU DL to double OT....and I think our OL will be a heck of a lot more improved than their DL that was then and still is pretty elite).

In any case, I guess the point of the segment was Zarzour and McElroy both think OSU will slip up due to the difficulty in maintaining the sharpness of having a bullseye not them. Some OSU fans called in to say no chance that they overlook PSU.

That was pretty much it. IU and Rutgers were both voted into the 7 and 6 spots inside the division with Maryland and Michigan being flipped in the 4 and 5 spots.

I've always went with what my Father would tell me about preseason college football, especially Penn State, is you can never predict how good a team will be until the third or fourth week. We always have high expectations for Penn State but never get full of yourself like some fans do.

THE ohio state is going to be way too overconfident. They'll have unhappy players not getting enough playing time. Receivers will want to play better for the quarterback who doesn't get to start, so they'll tank plays. If we can convince the referees to actually call holding against Ohio State, Elliot will be neutralized. Plus, who knows how many more buckturds will be benched, due to drug violations? Meyer left the $EC to escape from better coaches - coaches like Franklin. Who else could get 9 wins out of Vanderbilt? Meyer is scared poopless of Penn State and Franklin, and Franklin will have our guys ready.

The week leading to the game, we need to bombard the league office with evidence that we know that their referees are screwing with us. I think one of two things will happen: one, they crap their pants and realize that they need to straighten up and call a fair game, or they'll be even more blatantly biased against us - enough for the country to see that this hick-town conference is the worst-run league in the history of the NCAA, and we'll be able to leave for a real conference.

I don't know what movie fantasy land you live in but Penn State is here to stay in the B10. Yes we got hosed on some calls that could or could not have altered the game. Let me ask this, Where would Penn State go if not the B10? There is no place more suiting for us than the B10 now. We raise way to much money for the conference, they just brought in two teams to somewhat make rivalries and to ease traveling to away games for us. Don't forget the late 90's and early 2000's where we were a contender for most of those years. I like the B10 and hope we stay in it for years to come.

According to my neighbor the Ohio State grad Penn State is going to be awful this year & will be awful for many years to come. His reasoning is we will be awful this year because we & Franklin talk too much about being good or better than last year. I did laugh at that & asked him if he watched the PSU - OSU game last year when we almost beat them with a depleted roster. The reason that we will be awful for many years to come is that we can't compete in recruiting with Meyer & Harbaugh, that is when I just laughed & walked away.

I have said for years that the Big Ten was the best fit for Penn State and that was the genius of Joe Paterno. Our iconic coach had the foresight to see where the future of college football was headed. When you are the new kid in town as Penn State was it sometimes takes a while to be accepted. Some bad calls and for some a bad commissioner are not going to convince me the conference is no good.

I disagree with you a lot but I try to give credit where it is due. Exactly 100% right. It is true Delany is a turd. It is true that the officials are a bunch of bums. And it is true that Michigan and Ohio State are passing aces to each other under the table while insisting that the poker game is on the up and up.

With all that being true, there is no question at all that the B1G is the best conference. We coin more money than the U.S. Mint. We have 4 of the winningest programs of all time. The conference is a ROCK of stability. And that is simply for football. Look at the success the conference has in other sports as well.

I can't understand all the people who want to play in the low-rent, low profile, low-budget ACC. Florida State and the Seven Dwarves. Getting ready for the big Syracuse game and the epic Wake Forest tilt - wow. Georgia Tech and NC State keep me up nights worrying. And Virginia - I can't contain the excitement.

All you need to know - stinko, dog Maryland paid a $50MM+ breakup fee to get the hell out of the ACC and into the B1G. There had to be a reason, and not because they were scared of playing Duke.

The way the B!G is set up this year with schedules; I wouldn't be surprised if we get a fair game in The Shoe because Michigan wants to win something and a defeated Ohio State team is better then an undefeated one. Meat plays us right before their Ohio State game. The schedule is a good one for us if we can get a fair game out of Meat. I have to believe Ohio State would rather we win the Meat game then Meat winning it. When Meat loses everybody else wins.
