Temple game

Temple basically playing for nothing today and it shows. They got their AAC title, lost Ruhle and now playing a 6-6 Wake team in mostly empty stadium....it looks like there's just no motivation. Bad turnovers on O and porous D. If these teams play a month ago, the score is reversed.

Temple's D is awful.
Temple's D has been lights out all year

As often happens in these "Who cares? When do we go home?" Bowl games......... Temple didn't bother to show up - at least for the first half

And don't be surprised at all of they wake up in the second half. (Wake is a very "not good" football team)

This the best attended Bowl game that I have seen. Wake Forest has a decent number of fans and so does Temple.

Temple's D is awful.

Actually the strength of the team.

I'd cut them some slack. Since accepting the bowl bid, Temple has lost their head coach, and unofficially lost several of their assistant coaches. (Believe they are coaching today, but the players know they are heading elsewhere.) You wonder how much time and effort the coaching staff put into preparation when they're also worrying about where they'll be living in a few weeks, etc.

Also, I believe that Temple played in the same stadium less than a month ago for their conference championship. Rhule had a way of getting the players to stay focused regardless of the situation. That appears to have been lacking in the preparation and in today's play.

For whatever reasons, bowl games are often unpredictable and blowouts are common.

Really? You think Temple is that good? Or Wake that bad?

Who did Temple beat this year that makes them any good? I'm confused! You hit Wake on the nail. Not very good. What made Temple them good?

Wake is 6-6 for a reason....Temple is 10-3 (and ranked 23rd in country) for a reason. Not saying Temple is "great" by any stretch but all things being equal from September through conference title weekend they're a better team than Wake by a fair margin.

Month off and lame match ups. Wake plays Clemson and FSU. Why would Wake be exited to play a northern team like Temple.
As far as Temple is concerned what does a game against Wake do for them. Temple/BC might mean something to both. Still probably not.

So you don't know who they beat that makes them good? They're just better than Wake by a fair margin?

Look at Wake go now that they got rid of their radio guy who was giving away their gameplans. ;)

??????

I don't recall anyone, certainly not I, making a huge hairy deal out of how good Temple is.

That said, Temple was a very solid, good team this year

I'm not putting them in Alabama's class.......but they are a good team - which I think would be obvious to anyone who has watched them

They have played real good defensive football......and - when their skill guys were healthy - they can also move the ball reasonably well
They've been well-coached (whether you like or don't like Rhule)

Good solid team that can give anyone a game

They've shut down some good offensive teams:

Stuffed Navy (and we've seen how good the Navy offense can be - even against quality teams)

They gave up 20 points TOTAL in their last four games - which ain't easy against anyone

They thumped a very good USF team in a game that was not as close as the score indicated

After losing to PSU early on (in a VERY competitive game).......their only loss came to an explosive Memphis team (that beat Houston, and probably averaged somewhere over 40 ppg) in a game that Temple absolutely dominated, but got bit by turnovers and oddball plays

Their only other losses - aside from Memphis, were to PSU (a competitive game when they were banged up) and to Army in a game to open the season when essentially ALL of their offensive playmakers were out

They - if they were in the B1G - would probably slot in somewhere near Minnesota (I think they are likely a bit better than Minnesota - which is not a bad team........although they are a mess right now thanks to their off-field issues - - - which are very reminiscent - in style, if not magnitude - of what the PSU program went through in Novemeber 2011)

Temple is - clearly - a good team

AAC is regarded as the strongest of the non P5 leagues by just about everyone. To win that conference, you're a solid team, period. I didn't say great, I said solid.

Maybe wake is a 9 win team without their radio analyst leaking game plans to the opposition

Well I've read from both of you that Temple is good. Just trying to figure out if they've actually beat a few top 30 team to justify your feelings about Temple. Or is it just your eye test?

Can you read?

Or do you just choose not to - - - say as not to require you to think?

Bottom line is Temple sucks and proved it today. Not worth getting bent out of shape about it. Just glad Minnesota came through for Big10

No problem son. Anytime! You don't know an average team when you see one much less a good one. You proved it. But how would a band member and internet football fan really know football. I on the other hand have coached football for 20+ years. I know QBs and WRs. Well! The rest of my knowledge is just like any other that has played and coached. Penn St hoops on the other hand is driving me crazy. What's your take on the direction Chambers has us going?

Try not being so arrogant next time. You come off as a snotty little kid. Talking intellect on a free internet opinion board is not real intellectual. Have a nice evening.
