to end any human repetitive and boring work.

Has me thinking about a movie named Surrogates. In this futuristic movie, robots are so advanced that people simply hook up to their "surrogate robot" using advanced virtual reality. So you go into a room and hook up to your VR setup and your "robot" goes out into the world and acts on your behalf as you. Of course, the robots are all cut and handsome while the people are fat slobs since they never go out anymore. It also reminds me of an old commercial that inferred "if you don't use it you lose it" so people were just "heads" who have evolved to have no more bodies.

The future; gotta love it.

I remember when accountants and paper were going to go away. Now we have more of both than ever.

IMO automation changes the type of work that needs to be done but it doesn't eliminate the need for work.

The Survey Says: 40% of People Would Have Sex with a Humanoid Robot

We continue to ponder artificial intelligence and robots and their role in the sex industry. For the last half-decade, we've covered the proliferation of sexbots and how they could screw the human race.

For more on the screwing and a pretty shocking poll by data company Tido, out of 1,200 people surveyed, 42% of respondents said they would have sex with a robot. Males are more open to bonking a silicon robot- at least 48% of them said they would have sexual intercourse with a humanoid bot. Only 33% of females said they would.

"About 42% of our survey respondents would have sexual intercourse with a robot. Yet, only 39% believe they could have a romantic relationship with an AI. There is also a large discrepancy between men and women. Men are more open to both the idea of sleeping with a robot (48%) and falling in love with an AI (43% of male respondents)," Tido said.

What's troubling is that we outlined in 2016 that "if humans begin spending the majority of their intimate hours with sex androids, they will reduce both the energy and biological resources needed to perpetuate the human race."

Sort of like aliens -- the Greys?

Just wait until telepathy becomes the method of communication, and thoughts are no longer private. The future should be fun.

Hopefully tech companies realize at some point they don’t need to continue making things just because they can.

I don't consider Tesla a "tech company" - they are a car company. Not sure why they would do anything but focus on mastering their trade of making cars. They don't have any special expertise for this, and in fact would not be considered a leader in any part of the robotic marketplace. I work in this field.

Also, this is a lot harder than most people realize. One thing to make some AI based software, but quite another to make a full scope machine.

I consider them a government carbon credits company.

This thread is worthless without pictures.

Absolutely. A lot of people who suggest otherwise say we need immigrants to do the work. Which is it?

We have enough work for our own citizens and immigrants.

From a purely economic standpoint immigrants are great.

Economically you have two classes of people, those people productively working and those that are not. In the those that are not productively working you pretty much have children and retirees. These people will be consuming some the "stuff" working people are producing and that is perfectly fine.

With immigrants working people in some other country supported them when they were growing up. They come here and bingo we put right into the workforce. Pretty good deal.

Even better if the immigrants are highly educated. All that time energy put into their development by the people living in the immigrants home country...... Poof, we reap the benefits.

The people coming here illegally are not highly educated. Many work under the table and don't even pay SS taxes. They are an economic drain on our economy.

they aren't lazy- same can't be said of too many Americans

You can't prove that we have enough work for immigrants. The federal government's spending is not balanced, so we really don't know what the private sector can truly support.

We have wants -- certainly for infrastructure -- but that is different than saying we have someone to pay the bills, i.e., we have the jobs.

The central banks have been interfering with what was once a market economy. We really don't know what we have anymore. Zombie businesses are being propped up through central bank money-printing. People are being paid not to work, which distorts the demand for labor. We're paying them through higher prices on everything, especially things the middle and lower classes need to buy.

Second, these "immigrants" are not highly educated. They come from countries with very poor education standards. Hispanics are known to work hard, but they are not doctors and nurses -- the people we need. And the vast majority do not even speak English. They are a significant assimilation problem. I've seen it in many neighborhoods.

Third, if the news is accurate, we are selectively allowing women and children to stay. The contribution of these children is a long way off. In the interim they are a cost, not something we need when our budget does not balance.

Forth, immigration is now a leftist political weapon. Everyone knows that the current policy is to solidify leftist power in the future. The Biden Administration even used the military to strategically distribute these people throughout the country.

Fifth, many come here infected, but are not treated with the same vaccination standards as people in our own workforce. It's a double standard.

And in the end, this is all a subversion of our laws. It is treason at the highest level. It should be prosecuted.

The blatant unwillingness to secure our own borders should be an impeachable offense. Border security ranks as one of the highest things that government is in place to protect.

These people on the left in our government are effectively communists. They issue unlawful mandates. They want to perpetrate socialism. They are authoritarian. They might not even know what they really are -- communists -- the ideology that we fought wars to contain.

The Left has no regard for our laws, and no regard for telling the truth. Immigration is just one example.

Biden was thought to be a moderate. The centrists were fooled. If the media were not so biased to the left this would not have happened.

We are in deep trouble, much more than the average person realizes.
You can't prove that we have enough work for immigrants. The federal government's spending is not balanced, so we really don't know what the private sector can truly support.

The private sector cannot drive the economy 100% if some of it's earnings is saved. In other words if you want full employment and the ability for the private sector to save some of it's earnings then you will need government spending.

We have wants -- certainly for infrastructure -- but that is different than saying we have someone to pay the bills, i.e., we have the jobs.

The federal government can always purchase unused goods and services. There is no issue with "paying the bill". The only constraint is available resources.

Forth, immigration is now a leftist political weapon. Everyone knows that the current policy is to solidify leftist power in the future. The Biden Administration even used the military to strategically distribute these people throughout the country.

Uh oh, another "replacement theory" nut case. When do you have time to post? Don't you have rallies to attend? Those torches don't light themselves.

We are in deep trouble, much more than the average person realizes.

It is true, I'm deeply troubled after reading your post.

they are also an information company, the amount of information they can gather from all of the cars they produce on the road is mind numbing....

The paperless office will happen around the same time as the paperless bathroom. And be just as popular.

In 2016, 30.0% of immigrants ages 25 and older had a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared with 31.6% of the U.S. born.

Years of Fox News broadcasts and political photo ops from the US Mexico borders has created a misperception about illegal immigration. For every illegal border crossing, there is an international student or tourist that simply overstays their visa and takes a job. It’s not all Mexican crop pickers.

I never said that all illegal immigrants are crop pickers and I agree that people overstaying their visa is a problem. But there are millions coming across the southern border that places a huge burden on the economy.

They are spending a lot of resources to develop a general purpose ai that can navigate the world via video cameras.

Anyway you can see below what they are doing. I think you can agree they are a tech company.

Your post refuted absolutely nothing. In fact you argued points that were not even related to what I wrote. Nice straw man "rebuttal."

How about this ...

I will concede that we can "employ" every last person on the face of the earth.

What I won't concede is that this, or any other part of the Left's immigration scam, can be done free of cost to the current citizenry.

Whether through taxes or inflation, an unrestricted flow of refugees is a net cost. If that were not true then other countries would be begging for refugees.

But that NEVER HAPPENS. Only here, where a certain political party is trying to dilute its competition, do we see the destructive use of immigration for political gain.

The Left wants power, not a better life for Americans. They wouldn't be trying to destroy voter ID laws if they were not hell-bent on usurping power through nefarious means.

Their behavior is treasonous. Unless one can get inside of the government's gravy train, every policy will in fact worsen life for the American Middle Class. Every. Last. Policy.
Fu#k off to the test board with this bullshit.

We need crop pickers don't we? Pretty sure we still grow crops.

I don't understand why people look down on crop pickers. Most people wouldn't last 2 days doing that job.

Absolutely. It’s amazing that the anti- immigration crowd will rail against “Bidenflation” and not make any connection to wages increases driven labor shortages.

At the end of the day, immigration policy and economic policy need to be integrated - and developed by adults who don’t think in absolutes.

I don't look down on crop pickers. I support some amount of temporary work permits but I do not support ILLEGAL immigration. That said I would prefer that unemployed Americans pick the crops.
