Tons of talent and resources. Just need the right head guy. Much like PSU was years ago.

Was Penn State good BC? (Before Cael?)

Growing up it was Iowa, MN, Okie STate, ISU and everyone else. I got away from the sport and just got back into it 3/4 years ago. Not a troll question.

I think Penn State will have a LONG run at the top. Once Cael says "enough", he'll likely have a stable of "disciples" with credentials who can coach at a high level. Just like the Gable coaching tree, I think 6/7 years from now the Cael tree will be something else.

He's a great coach but there won't be much of a "coaching tree" because there are so few jobs and coaches seem to stay as long as they like, regardless of their results. It is probably hard to beat the money they're making at PSU, too.

Just looking at the Longhorn program as s sleeping giant much like PSU. The resources were always here, it just took the right guy to take over.

Before 2008-09, Penn State had 42 top-10 finishes in its history, with 23 of those being top-5. Hardly chopped liver, but only a champ once (1953).

Since then, counting Cael's 8 years, eight (8) top-10 finishes have been added, and 6 more championships. That ties Oklahoma for 4th all-time, and is one behind Iowa State for 3rd all-time.
