So another huge investment in American manufacturing has been cancelled. US Steel dropped plans to invest $1.5 billion in the Mon Valley works in Clairton and Braddock. Was going to rebuild coke ovens, new hot mill, new rolling mill making it state of the art steel facility. Now they cancelled the entire project and will completely shut down three of the coke ovens.
Ford and GM electric car factories, a huge appliance factory, the massive Foxcom facility in Minnesota, this massive steel facility, and more all being cancelled. Couldn’t have anything to do with higher energy prices? Or higher cap gain taxes on any profits made? Or more massive regulations? Or pay and worker mandates? Or green new deal craziness?
