"The Americans" series finale.....(potential spoilers)

More confusion. Stan and partner were not watching Paige;s apartment, they were watching a presumed safe house. No one was watching her place till later.
They were watching the garage and got there minutes after Philip and Elizabeth left

No they were watching a safe house, they said that when they first arrived. The worst part of the episode was that Stan's partner didn't mind that he left in the middle of one of the biggest stakeouts in FBI history. And didn't say anything when he got back. Close 2nd was Henry's nonchalantly being told his parents are Soviet spies and fled without him. It seemed like an episode to plant the seed of a Paige/Henry/Stan spinoff, not wrap up the best show on TV

That would be a great premise for a sitcom. Two kids of KGB officers living with a FBI counter-intel agent.

I loved this series and found the finale to be “thought provoking”. I found this tidbit on IMDB...
The music initially chosen for the climactic finale was "American Pie" by Don McLean, however when putting it to the scene, it seemed to overpower the scene and the music supervisors wanted a song more relevant to that period of the late 80s. They settled on "With or Without You" by U2 as they felt it best captured the emotional beats of the scene. The band is very protective of that song's usage in media, but luckily some members were fans of the show and allowed it to be featured. The licensing only cleared on the very last day of mixing the episode.
