All-2000s team: QB Tebow, RB Bush, RB McFadden, WR Fitzgerald, WR Crabtree, All-Purpose Harvin, OL McKinnie, OL Thomas, OL Eslinger, OL Jake Long, OL Clady, DL Suggs, DL Suh, DL John Henderson, DL Pollack, LB Willis, LB Derrick Johnson, LB Hawk, DB Newman, DB Reed, DB Roy Williams, DB Berry. (Paul Posluszny mentioned as worthy candidate at LB)

Best teams: 1. 2001 Miami, 2. 2004 USC, 3. 2005 Texas, 4. 2009 Alabama, 5. 2000 Oklahoma.

Best games: 1. Texas-USC Rose Bowl, 2. (all of the 2007 season), 3. Ohio State over Miami for 2002 BCS title, 4. Boise State over Oklahoma, 5. Bush Push USC-ND.

Best coaches: 1. Meyer, 2. Carroll, 3. Saban, 4. Stoops, 5. Mack Brown, 6. Tressel, 7. Leach, 8. Gary Patterson, 9. Beamer, 10. Les Miles.

I actually don't remember much about this Penn State-Michigan game from 2005 that was mentioned several times in the comments of this article. I know Penn State lost once that season, but forgot how. Probably for the better that I'd basically forgotten it.

I agree with the USC / Texas game - But that 2001 Miami Team was garbage.

Poz should be on over aj hawk, but otherwise there really isn't a player I can think of that would crack this list

refs couldn't walk straight when marking a ball
Edwards was out of bounds on a long pass play to start the last drive, not even reviewed
seconds added on at end of game and Michigan needed it.

The famous toe-heel catch was by Avant ( not Edwards). You can also add the offsides kickoff (that wasn't) and the two blatant blocks in the back on the subsequent kickoff. The referines were in rare form that game.

Come again? Ed Reed, Bryant McKinnie, Jeremy Shockey, Phillip Buchanan, Ken Dorsey, Clinton Portis, Jonathan Vilma, Antrel Rolle, Sean Taylor, Vince Wilfork, Mike Rumph, Najeh Davenport. That team was so loaded.

Just shows how little you know. That was the best team ever in Beaver Stadium.I was at that game and they could have put up 40 points in the first half playing two hand touch.PSU522 is a troll.

Look at just the backs - Portis, Gore, McGahee, Davenport. Buchanon, Rolle, Reed and Sean Taylor in the defensive backfield. Throw in 3 first rounders on the D Line, Andre Johnson at WR. Insane

It was the best team I've ever seen
I’ve been closely following College Football since 1974 - first game I remember involved the co-MNC USC Trojans kicking NDs butt. The 2001 Canes were the most talented team I’ve ever seen. Have them coached by Saban and they’d have beaten every team by 50 points. They won in spite of Coker like the Cowboys in spite of Switzer.

It's sad that a university of Phoenix grad makes the list, but no Nittany Lion.

Did Davenport even play or did he stop in easy halls to take dumps in girls laundry baskets?

Did you not see/experience the 1994 PSU squad?
Well the post was post 2000, so that team doesnt qualify. But that is the one team that could have taken the 94 team (freshman year at PSU for me)

Wish I could forget the Avant toe-heel "catch", Breaston abusing us on kick returns and Manningham's last second TD after a couple of seconds were added to the clock.
