The day that Hanson comes off the minor league DL.....

He needs to be on a plane to Pittsburgh and playing 2nd base.

Brutal.
Well maybe not yet, but next year. Walker is basically useless at this point. Bucs knew what they were doing by not signing him long term. SOS tonight. 15 LOB.

I've never been a big Walker fan. He gets a bit more slack because he's a hometown guy. I will not be saddened by his departure.

They need to do what they did with Snyder a year or two ago (when he was stinking up the joint)......say he slipped in the dugout and hurt his back or something (that would be an easy sell with Walker's medical history), and give him a week or two off, then a 10 day rehab stint in the minors.

He is just a basket case right now.......at the plate, in the field AND on the basepaths. He is BRUTALIZING this teams chances to win - especially with Hurdle continuing to bat him either 2nd or 4th (while keeping Mercer down in the 8th spot.....WTF is that all about?)

Walker needs a vacation......and gives them a chance to see what Hanson can do - who should at least inject some athleticism and energy and playmaking ability to the club.

I agree about Walker, but he did have the game winning hit last night in the 14th inning. If and when Walker is replaced at 2B, it will be Harrison playing there with Jung Ho moving in at 3rd. Hanson at the earliest [barring injury] will be the starting 2B in mid 2016. In baseball, player decisions are always tough because performances vary so much from year to year. The one thing that won't improve is Walker's range at 2nd.

Which is why you don't draft a catcher to play second base if you expect range. His fielding stats have always been pretty good overall. I could never understand not trying to hit from the left hand side full time although his strikeouts are pretty high his power/avg is a lot better.
