So I see the Texas NAACP has filed a federal Title VI complaint with DoE which seeks to cause the feds to withhold federal funding from UT, for continuing to use its traditional fight song.
First of all, how telling that they apparently didn't go to federal court and avail themselves of the private right of action available to them under Barnes v. Gorman. (Because, of course, they'd be laughed out of court, on standing and other grounds.)
Second, in a world where there are real problems with race relations and inequities, how revolting that this is the way they spend their money.
I'd almost like to see DoE grant them relief, so that Texas could kick DoE's ass in federal court.
