It seems we are only 3.5 away from clinching this tournament. There are multiple ways as I understand. Could someone PLEASE post to this thread when we officially ELIMINATE tOSU and the title is PENN STATES. Thanks ;)

Ps: having a great time in Pittsburgh.

PSU would have to lose all 7 remaining bouts and tOSU would have to win all 7 of their remaining bouts PLUS would have to get at least 11 of 14 potential bonus points to tie PSU.

The odds of all that happening would appear to be less than 1 in a million. So start your celebrating.

Pop the corks at high noon! It will be over during the 133lb medal round.
Very likely that 133 consi semis will decide it. Pletcher has to beat Desanto and get bonus to keep the margin for error from getting smaller. Personally I believe Desanto wins.

tOSU’s max points is 123.5, we are at 120.5. With a Pletcher regular decision that would bring their max down to 121.1. So a Nick Lee win should give us the points needed to clinch. If ADS beats Pletcher It should be over.

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette has a story on their website this morning that says we have clinched the title.

Yes, I was over there last night and they already were talking about all of their returning AA’s and who we were losing and how everyone will be shocked next year..
Well I’m sure people will be shocked at the Hawkeye performance next year. It’s yet to be seen whether it’s The Hawkeye fans or the rest of the known universe.

We will have more in the semi finals next year. Fact .. Direct quote from one of their posters.

Only lost 1 team point so far!
Missed what he did. Did he disrespect the opponent or the opposing coach this time? Interesting how he hasn’t pulled those schinanigans when wrestling RBY. In fact, he has seemed to be just the opposite. Wonder why?

Iowa has issues with Seniors not performing during the PSU run.

Iowa has a lot of bad luck with injuries lately.

HR has pinned their hopes on a Freshman heavy, a guy moving up 2 weights recovering from knee surgery, banking on Spencer not taking ORs, and that Warner finds his ov.

If all those things pan out and/or trends go another way 2020 might just be their year.

That doesn’t sound like a stretch at all... [insert eye roll emoji]

Talking to Lizak after the match last night. He was well behaved during and after the Pletcher match just now.

How would a non-Jason, non-Bo PSU team stack up against an Iowa Hawkeye team?
Without Jason's and Bo's combined points earned so far in this tournament Penn State is in second place with another team (like always) still between Penn State and Iowa.

As always, that learn to walk before you run thing is an important lesson for our Hawk friends to learn. They need to catch the Cowboys and Buckeyes before worrying about the Nittany Lions.

Interesting point. Let's not forget that the Lions will come back to the pack after Nolf and Nickal graduate.

Well, maybe not ...

WE ARE ......

Congratulations on the title. However not a great look to be wasting energy on Iowa. Celebrate being the dynasty everyone is looking up at.
