Most of you by now know that Koa Farmer's father is visiting Penn State for the first time to see his son play tonight against Michigan.

This visit made me reminisce about the story of Teddy Teski. Some of you may not recall the name, but some of you will remember his story. @Nate Bauer/BWI Staff @SJLuvsLions @buhcon

Teddy was a senior defensive tackle that struggled to play on the third string team... even in his senior year. Some of the mean spirited teammates referred to him has "Teddy bear" because he played so soft.

Teddy's coach had to break the bad news to Teddy that his father died the week of the team's last game of the year. Teddy was especially close to his father and provided him extra care because he was blind. So, the news hit him especially hard.

Teddy went into his coach's office after practice and asked the coach to "start him" against a very strong opponent. His coach was obviously reluctant because their playoff hopes were still alive. But...he granted Teddy his request with the idea that he would soon pull him out after a few minutes.

Well. I think by now, you know where I am going with this. Teddy had a MONSTER game against their opponent! He broke the single game record for tackles for loss and created two fumbles from his vicious hits!! He was the MVP of the game and was given the game ball by his coach.

Later the coach summoned Teddy to his dressing room and asked Teddy why he didn't play like this earlier in his career?

He said, with a tear coming down his face, "Coach, all my life my father has been blind and never saw me play. But now that my father is in heaven, I know he can see me play for the first time. I wanted him to see me honor him today!"

Teddy's story has been told a lot through the years. I just thought it apropos to tell it again in light of Farmer's father coming to town this evening. @AFRich @bohucon @rag195
