With Clifford being a pretty good runner why does PSU not run the read option similar to how they did the past 3 years? When Clifford fakes the inside hand off to the RB running right across him, like it's a power sweep/end around to the RB, and keeps it going up the middle that IMO is not a read option because their is no read, it is a designed QB run.
Why not run the regular read option a bit to help loosen things up on the defense, and get them off balance? You know, the QB reads the DE and based on his read he either hands off to the RB or keeps it himself.
Many people on here wanted to do away with read option for a a more straight up run game. Well now we are and it didn't work for shit last night, against a non power 5 team. Maybe it's time to admit the Oline is just avg at best. What is this Oline going to do when they face Dlines from OSU and MSU?
