No one did more for the rise of communism. Why did FDR give eastern Europe to Russia when we had the bomb? Why did he authorize $20M of the $21M annual OSS (CIA) budget to arm communist Chinese rebels led by Mao Tse-tung to drive out the Japenese instead of providing the funding to the ruling Nationalist Party (Republic of Chian) led by Chiang Kai-shek? After the war the armed communist rebels drove out the Nationlists, who fled to Taiwan. The U.S. has still not learned its lessen about arming rebels, a mistake we repeatedly make to this day imo.
