1) BEATING MARYLAND to beat a team that bad you don't simply out-execute, you have to take their manhood. If you attack a thin OL eventually it will get thinner as the night goes on. Maryland lost 2 more OL last night. With Maryland, I don't just want to beat them, I want to ruin their next 6 games.. destroy their confidence, and leave a toxic wake for their coaches to deal with. Once again the PG kids all acted like PG kids.. cheap shots, trash talk, penalties.... when you play Maryland you can use their mental fragility against them all night long. Pairing a coach who had 2 kids end up criminals (despite a large paycheck) with at-risk street kids will end very badly. If this team never won a game with Locksley coaching CFB would be better for it. If not at this level he would be taking kick-backs while traveling around coaching a 7v7 all-star teams. @kjb32812
2) Rahne Brilliant.
a. work of tendencies to free Cliff up for easy scoots and first downs
b. the "conflict screen" @SJLuvsLions game was perfect.. with WR's down the field the LB's were helpless 1v1
c. Clifford is accurate as McGloin with 30% more arm. He makes those throws to loosen up a D that Trace would struggle with
3) D depth is unreal.. Luketa is a starter on most teams. If JPJ can play put him out there. Luketa with a feel for the passing game that Brown and PArson's simply lack. Even #28 was used effectively. The way to stop a spread is to attack the gaps and hit them at the mesh points. Tackling is best it's been. No points scored on D in 3rd Q yet this year. Ellis Brooks just gets better with snaps.
4) Shout out to Cam SullBrown, he is becoming a reliable possession guy in tight spaces.
5) WTF was Gilliken doing Aussie style? Gilliken hasn't improved much.. I wish he'd punt more and talk less.. Buffalo and Pitt were not stellar games. Anytime there is pressure his kicks tend to shorten up by 15 yards. He is a team leader, but I don't see him in the NFL.
6) Hamler best game as a Nit. TE's were Awesome blocking and really big YAC after they recd short accurate throws. Last Night on BIG rewind, Glen Mason said. "I now see why Stevens bailed"
7) Friedgen should be ashamed of himself.. he literally threw CJF under the bus and openly rooted for MD from the booth..have some class. He was praising Locklsey.. he failed to mention.. "he made the entire female football staff uncomfortable, but we kept him around b/c he could recruit all the bullet-proof vest neighborhoods".. the same reason Bama had him.. his coaching skill is negligible. I would send a post-card scoreboard text pic to every recruit involved with MD at any stage.. committed, probable, future.. My guess is that Fridge felt like CJF stabbed him in the back by taking the COACH IN WAITING title.
8) RB.. they all played well but last night Ford and Brown stood out. Ford is a more natural back than Brown.. but Brown has NFL velocity. It took Slade 4/5 carries in scoring zone.. I feel that the other guys would have scored in 2/3 carries.. he simply is not the caliber of back the others are. He is good in the passing game.. but I think Ford and Brown are both better there as well. Ford is by far the most elusive. @henrymale
