This time last year, Jim "the genius" Harbaugh was telling recruits that Franklin was incompetent and didn't even belong at a big-time program, and Bob Shoop was preparing to polish his resume for a head coaching job by making a lateral move to Tennessee, because he would be much more successful with the Vols returning defensive talent, and Tennessee's surging status in the SEC. Oh, and Mark Dantonio was rubbing PSU's nose in the dirt by running an OL for a touchdown in a game that was effectively over.
Given what the Penn State team and community have been through in recent years, I'm not sure--except for maybe the national championship seasons--we have ever experienced a more satisfying regular season than this. I've been saying all along that Franklin could be the guy--and now it's clear that he is the guy. Kudos to him, to his assistants, to the players, and to the fans who have stayed loyal to the program.
