Think John O'Neill will throw a flag for this play Saturday?

Is it really O'Neils crew running the game sat? That can't be good for us

That is roughing the passer, he is within the 2 yard OSU QB zone which is not allowed.

OMG I hope not. An O'Neill crew adds 7 to 10 points more that PSU would have to overcome to win the game. Those guys hate PSU and once a season (which was Iowa) should be enough punishment.

Given that the Shoe is probably worth 7 points, and the bye week is worth 7 to Meyer, if O'Neill does this game, PSU would have to be 20-24 points better than Ohio State to win. It has to be an aggressive gameplan like they had against Michigan.

They'll talk about it at the NCAA rules convention, as they did with blocking punts, field goals, pats, clock management, and uniform standards.

You tend to be a glass-half-empty kind of guy, typically, for whatever reason that I won't try to guess, but the bye week isn't worth a touchdown. That's nonsense.

I see at least these three flags on the play:

1 - Defensive holding (holding the OL hand with the front of the DL shoulder pads)

2 - Making the QB uncomfortable with that kind of proximity by a DL

3 - Having the audacity to field a team in the first place

It's part of Penn State's traditional uniform for the OSU game. Ever since joining the Big Ten the PSU defense has worn capes that oddly resemble an OSU uniform. This year's capes are reported to be grey.

f this. this is why this board isn't worth my time. can't have a discussion about football without some genius trying to put a label on me. You have absolutely no idea who I am or what I'm like. You disagree with my post, great! Argue your side. You don't think the bye week was just worth 7 points to PSU vs. Michigan? Cite some evidence, make a counter-assertion, anything. Or ignore if if my post isn't worth a response. But name calling isn't argument, it's just lazy.

Are you begging for a showdown with the artist formerly known as “Lurker”? It sure appears that you want to get into a keyboard smashing debate.

I have no idea who this is, who any of these people are but some drive me nuts to the point of not wanting to be here. I don't want to get personal. I wish other people wouldn't. I just want to talk football is all, really.

O'Neill doing this game would be bad news for PSU. Not that it can't be overcome but it's a significant impact.

Let me frame this in a glass-half-FULL way -- if PSU gets fair and competent officiating on Saturday (like they did last year, at the Beav, like they did Saturday vs. Michigan) that's worth 7 points at least. That improves their chances of winning quite a bit. (Note that officiating that would hose Ohio State is not within the universe of possibility.)

I don't think we find out who the crew is until Saturday, do we? If it were known now it would influence the betting lines.

Weird shitty calls and non-calls at critical times in the game. The pattern is pretty clear. Against Iowa, they were hands off until it got deep into the 2nd half and Iowa was still in the game -- and then O'Neill and his crew did their best to hose PSU.

You're just being ridiculous.

A bye week in college football isn't worth close to 7 points. Neither is home field (though it is worth more than a bye). And the Big Ten could announce today that O'Neill is doing the game and it wouldn't do a thing to the line (it would just get the PSU tin-foil hat crew up in arms).

Hard to believe; B1G officials having an ideal view of Mike Mauti being egregiously and blatantly held for nearly two seconds and no call. Is it incredibly incompetent or is it phenomenally corrupt?

Does anyone have the clip of Deion Barnes getting held from behind when he was closing in on Braxton Miller at the horseshoe? I had trouble finding that and the hit their D-lineman gave Hackenberg after the play was whistled for encroachment from the 2013 game.

After last week, I'm semi-optimistic about having a fair game. I hope the referines didn't lull me to sleep!

I've read thru my post several times, and I didn't call you a single name. I merely said that your assertion was nonsense. Which it was, in my humble opinion. Sorry if you took that so poorly.

How about the blatant face mask penalty/ late hit that should have been called on Bozo when he nearly decapitated Hack laying on the turf! His helmet flew out from under the pile.

I've seen evidence that giving Urban Meyer 4 weeks is worth 31 points for one team and none for the other.

As the foremost expert in internet forum activity due to the fact that I sit at my desk and post in a forum with no consequences, I can tell you with the utmost veracity that your opinions are 100% falsehoods. I disagree with everything that you type. I have no proof that provides a contrarian argument other than that I disagree with you. As we already discussed, my disagreement can and should be taken as fact due to my expert experience in internet forum activity. To further my point, I will use the timeless tradition of typing few 20$ words to supplement my hubris in an attempt to further prove my superiority. In the end, I WILL be known as the smartest person on the internet. Furthermore, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Certain that the NEW field goal penalties will be assessed when OSU tries a FG at long range maintaining their "drive" deeper into PSU territory. The OSU field goal rules derived from last years game results will be used in this years game. I have not personally observed the new OSU rules called in any game yet this season but KNOW they will be used at least once at a critical point in this years game. Mark it down.

Grant Haley won't be allowed to return a blocked kick rule. Marcus Allen will not be allowed to legally block a field goal or punt in this years game. Urban Meyer instituted rules for the game. If PSU can over come the officiating and points directly given to OSU by officials like in 2014 during their MYTHICAL nc run PSU should be awarded the NC on the spot.

Here are the plays I mentioned:

Barnes gets held at 25:30. Hackenberg gets hit at 28:10, though it was a false start, not offsides. And for a bonus, you can watch Roby grab Allen Robinson at 1:15:50.
