This Philly Fan keeping it classy

He’s obviously a low IQ individual so I doubt he has an executive position.
This kind of conduct is precisely why I haven’t gone to an Eagles’ game in years and never will. I remember years ago when I used to listen to WIP on the radio and a caller called in to complain about how he was physically accosted at a game because he was wearing Giants gear. The “geniuses” on the station responded by saying “he should have known better”. They then spent the remainder of the program claiming that Eagles’ fans were the best. I realize that every fan base has bleep fans but Philly is the only one where a District Magistrate was hired to preside over criminal cases perpetrated by fans right in the stadium.

Just another example of how our country allows the freedom of speech...............and with that freedom comes the ability to make a total and huge ass of ones self.god how can you not love this country!

I don’t advocate violence but it sure would have been nice to see one of those South Philly wise guys say, are you talking to me? And then walk over and punch that fat fu@k right in his stupid face.

I really don’t think freedom of speech has anything to do with what this a-hole did.

yeah, this is the norm and not unusual. I wouldn't go to an NFL game if you gave me free tickets. It isn't just the eagles but every NFL venue I've been to (which is only three but...).

I don't really want to wax nostalgic, but when I was a season ticket holder and regular attendee for the Steelers at 3 Rivers and at Beaver Stadium in the 90's and beyond there was something unique about the fans that attended in that era.

They were game in and game out, predominantly the same fans sitting in the same seats. If there was a 'problem' you had the resources of a number of regulars surrounding and supporting you to peacefully resolve the issue.

I recall an instance at 3 Rivers when a young Browns fan and his girlfriend were being verbally assaulted for no reason by a drunk Steelers fan. We didn't permit. We had numbers and he ultimately when challenged stopped and went away.

I don't know how much that this is still the circumstance, particularly at a pro sporting venue as I am no longer a regular attendee.

yep. Frankly, the better the team the worse the fans are. When the Browns, Cavs, and Indians really stunk, it was easy to go to a game and enjoy yourself. They were true fans who wanted to see a good game and the franchise improve. The rift-raft, bandwagon jumpers weren't there. But when the team got good, and expectations changed, the a-holes started to show up.

Frankly, PSU is the same way. Some of the best PSU seasons were the post Sandusky seasons when the fans were super nice and the kids played here for a purpose. I recall coming from behind to beat a ranked NW team and the Michigan 4 OT game. The fans were great and welcomed fans from those schools to our campus. There were, of course, drunks but it was almost always very cordial. By reading this board, I fear the same stuff is happening with our fanbase. We really had the best PSU season in decades and have the best QB we've had since Collins. Yet, if you read this board, you'd think we are the Browns.

Not only did we have a successful season, but we are one of only a handful of teams who actually retain a decent core of our players who are not out of eligibility or declaring for the draft.

It appears that fans of programs like Pitt are going to be forced to root for a considerably different group of players each year and I don't think that is a good thing for the sport long term.

One of the things that drew me towards college football and basketball as a youngster was following the players careers with the various teams. And trying to envision how good your team could be as you put puzzle pieces into position. Then it became those were people that you personally knew and competed against.

I believe that a lot of the complaining surrounding our team and college football in general is the result of the frustration/displeasure with some facets of the new system.

It's a process that for one reason or another most are not enjoying.

The "hosptality industry?" Not so hospitable, it seems.

I’m of the generation which just missed the pronoun revolution. I’m a pretty tolerant person, but it’s really hard for me not to roll my eyes over the whole thing.

When someone asks me for mine over the phone my voice is the equivalent of the 🙄 emoji.

This isn’t an indictment of Eagles fans. It’s an indictment of one particular asshole who needs his teeth knocked out. Which is what would have happened in days gone by.
Best/safest thing to do is record it and go over to an usher and have them handle his drunk ass. Nothing more enjoyable than watching a mouthy asshole getting frog marched out of a place by beefy, pissed off security
