This Philly Fan keeping it classy

Best/safest thing to do is record it and go over to an usher and have them handle his drunk ass. Nothing more enjoyable than watching a mouthy asshole getting frog marched out of a place by beefy, pissed off security
True. Most NFL teams are prepared and have a pretty good response to this type of stuff.

I mean - someone is stomped to death or into a coma at a Raiders/Chargers/Niners game every year it seems, but bring up tired, decades-old chestnuts like these.

Every Eagles fan on this board has rightly trashed this guy
^^THIS^^

The Eagles haven't played in the vet since 2002 and Santa was "booed" - Not exactly - in 1968.

The POS Eagles fan has been banned from the Linc and his employer put out a statement that sounds like he may be exploring new career opportunities. The guy works in the hospitality industry??

People can't assume they'll get away with being a-holes in public. Too many cameras and microphones around.

Is the Packers fan getting fired for these comments?

Maybe it’s just the nature of arguing on a message board but there’s something off with you. If you can’t see what that asshole did was wrong, not only for himself, his family, the Eagles, the NFL, the city and especially his employer then I don’t know what to tell you. And if you want to scan the internet for what-about evidence of injustice to somehow mitigate that, be my guest, but it just makes you look as foolish as that idiot.

Both are wrong

OK, man up. Which one of you was this?
Are you insinuating that a Penn State message board subscriber who also happens to be an Eagles fan is responsible for this vile behavior? Nothing like painting with a broad brush. You may be just as bad as the guy harassing the woman.

Well his company officially fired him - as a father of 2 daughters good riddance to this POS - zero excuse for what he did. Does anyone here think that saying that kind of stuff and also knowing you are being filmed would not lead to repercussions and possible termination from your employer?

Obli posted on the other board that the guy worked for a company involved in...wait for it..."DEI consulting."

Can't make this stuff up.

The nature of the job probably made keeping him on problematic for the company after the wide public exposure of the incident and his identity.

I guess I'm old-fashioned but to me there's no excuse for talking like that to a woman.

If people knew they'd be doxxed for acting like assholes in public, I'm guessing there'd be a lot less uncivil behavior in society.

Agree Jerry. I'll posts the article below.

But just because one person is wrong, it doesn't make the other right. Both can be wrong, both can be right. they person who filmed the video is a social media person who has done controversial stuff in the passed. There is no excuse for this guy. But if it was provoked and the video edited to be out of context, he was wrong too. he may have just fished until he found a drunk that couldn't control himself.

Who knows.

Certainly releasing the video is preferable to starting a fight, or macing the guy and kicking his eyebrows off, right? I agree that it will have an effect, and nobody got hurt but the a**hole.

Not only did we have a successful season, but we are one of only a handful of teams who actually retain a decent core of our players who are not out of eligibility or declaring for the draft.

It appears that fans of programs like Pitt are going to be forced to root for a considerably different group of players each year and I don't think that is a good thingSimply for the sport long term.

One of the things that drew me towards college football and basketball as a youngster was following the players careers with the various teams. And trying to envision how good your team could be as you put puzzle pieces into position. Then it became those were people that you personally knew and competed against.

I believe that a lot of the complaining surrounding our team and college football in general is the result of the frustration/displeasure with some facets of the new system.

It's a process that for one reason or another most are not enjoying.
For me it is pretty simple. The idea of transferring schools to a general student body person is an unusual thing- but it happens. Being at PSU we tended to get more kids into University Park leaving from privates- I'm thinking of Lafayette, and Wittenberg kids from my hometown and one from UVM from neighboring school- all came in Junior year. Another got kicked out of Bucknell for a hazing incident.

But to transfer 3, 4, even 5 times is not "college." I had class with some of our athletes- football players in Acctg 101 and B Log. Lisa Salters was in my major. Maybe they had extra Study Halls and tutoring, but they were not that different than me.

5 transfers- like our basketball Center a few years ago- is more like a cruise with multiple stops than what most consider a college experience.

I'm finding that I care less about the people inside the uniforms than I used to- which takes away part of the PSU connection- at least for me.

Not really- responded to another posters thought that I quoted but yeah- off topic. My bad.

Fwiw that jack wagon Birds fan deserved to get broomed by his company- a DEI firm no less. Guy is from New Brunswick, NJ which is more NYC than Philly- but maybe he grew up in one of the saltier areas of The City of Brotherly Love.

Egged on or not- shouldn't do this stuff- and in today's digital era- you lose your job and "right" to attend any Eagles game everagain...

Way to go tough guy! Accomplished a lot on a Sunday evening....

this is one of the many reasons why I quit drinking. I, fortunately, never made any major mistakes in my life that compare to this one. But I've noticed that I've got a great ability to make an ass of myself sober. As a result, there is no need to drink.

More seriously, my father once told me "if you need to drink to have a good time, you need to reconsider your life choices". That isn't an exact quote but pretty close. And every time I have the chance to drink that message resonates in my brain. So much so that I've taken to having a token drink at business events because if I don't, sooner or later, someone will start asking questions trying to see if I am a reformed alcoholic.

Imagine how his children may feel? Wife? Daughters? Neighbors? His church community if he has one?

Not everyone will agree to absolve his sins...he will be known forever as "that Eagles fan guy in the video using c _ _ _ at the Packers fan."

Took a lifetime to build it up and an afternoon to tear it down...

Live and learn.

"Live and learn." Or, don't.

Someone in this thread was lauding this event as one of the "freedoms we enjoy" or something like that. Another one we enjoy is the freedom to burn our sh!t down like a fire driven by Santa Anna winds.

Nobody stifled his speech--they BROADCAST it all over the world. But the broadcaster didn't burn his sh!t down!! He did.

I agree with you 100%. But I do feel bad that people don't understand, in the age of digital recordings, you can't let this happen even once. I mean, it is like somebody dumb enough to send dick-pix.

But, again, if you have some decent underlying morals, you'd never do this in the first place. After all the sporting events I've gone to, and several were highly contested and competitive, I've never even had a single instance of tempers flaring. I have walked away from some potential incendiary events.

Wow. Starting to sound like she asked for it. This is the proper response.

From the company:
We condemn our former employee's conduct in the strongest possible terms," BCT Partners said in a statement. "This individual's conduct and language were vile, disgusting, unacceptable, and horrific and have no place in our workplace and society."

It IS possible that the videotaper did some things wrong. It DOES sound like he does not have a job he could be fired from. Otoh, his response WAS not the violent physical attack it could have been. As I said above, he coulda maced the guy and his loser buddies and stabbed him or kicked his eyebrows off.

Of course, there IS a chance that Ryan Caldwell will hunt the video guy down and harm him, but for the time being, violence has been averted.

This guy was a grown man with a family and a job. Whether he was drinking or not, he wasn’t falling over or slurring his speech so he knew exactly what he was doing and he didn’t care. Just like I don’t care about what he has now brought upon himself.

He could have put an admission and a heartfelt apology on his social media instead of deleting everything which is what he did. He was a coward and he ran and hid. My hope for him is that this changes him and he truly is redeemed. Until then he is getting what he earned and frankly deserves.

yeah, well, you don't understand law very well. Putting an apology out there would be like sending this woman a check and telling her to write in the dollar amount.

I understand law perfectly fine thanks. In no way would an apology change anything in this case that has happened since. And the law is ordinarily adequate. It’s the lawyers who abuse it to make money that is problematic.

LOL...we'll just have to agree to disagree. In civil court, it would have been used as an admission of guilt so it was just down to the dollar amount that needed to be paid out.

OK. Sign me up for that huge payout! I’m not going to go into a 20 page legal argument but I’ll just say yes we disagree and you’re wrong. We can still be friends though.
