Thomsen-Teske

Teske has a blue-chip attitude. Major factor in PSU recruiting, those that don't have it don't stay.

After watching this bout several times yesterday and today, what's not to like. Fits perfectly, imo. Yes, a couple technical things need to be cleaned up, but heck, he's a HS Senior with good potential, and already has the temperament (action, score).
Put "never quit" in there and you have the trifecta.

Roar,
You most likely do not have the devious aspect in your personality necessary to appreciate the smile on my face as I snickered out loud and muttered to myself "oh, so that's what the damn issue was!"

after watching the matcvh between these two wrestlers and then watching Brody's interview ..I couldn't agree more ..can't wait to see Brody experience Penn State for the next four or five years ...he is a rock solid Penn State wrestler

Could completely close the loop if some story emerges of Teske's recruitment, where his dad told him to "get them (Nebraska) off the phone, I've got Cael Sanderson!"
I love Jordan and appreciate his accomplishments, but when I watch this kid wrestle his in your face, never quit tenuous wear your ass out attitude reminds me of one of Jordan's peers who gets beat in the room with an unnatural regularity.

"He took me to deep waters.......but I train in deep waters" ...Brody Teske. Love that attitude! That said...Can someone please tell the interviewers that they still make directional microphones. Loved the interview but had to lip-read half of it.

Brody Teske match against Saunders was impressive with how he came back to win it. Saunders is a great wrestler but he just finished his freshman year. I would expect Teske to have won the match.

I did the same thing, minus the snicker.

Teske's motor, drive and never say die attitude was very impressive. Almost all of HR had Thomsen winning the match. The kid just never quits. May not be Spencer Lee, but he'll contribute mightily to PSU before all is said and done.

From what I've seen of Teske, his biggest shortcomings are he is a little reckless and needs more strength. I think redshirting next year will aid both tremendously. Looking forward to watching his development.

Just my guess, but most of HR had Thompson winning due to Teske's college choice. Erase PSU from the equation and HR probably would have been split closer to 50-50.

Closer to 83-26.

Also, if Teske were to lose at states, will HR hear the fans cheering for him losing?

I wonder if the HR will hear the boos from the handful of knuckleheads at the state championships????? asking for a friend.
Pretty sure when time provides itself aplenty while drinking glassfuls of pinnacle vodka and waiting on numerous compliance offices to return 2 or 3 dozen as of yet unreturned phone messages, one of the HR faithful will be preparing some sort rationalisation.

I know both young men and both of the fathers. I picked Thomsen based on my personal feelings about who I think is a little better at this point. I will still pick him in the rematch (I picked DT everytime against Dake so I'm not too bright). I pick Teske as the higher ceiling in college because I think he can add muscle and clean things up on finishes where Thomsen seems more polished to me already. Love both kids as college prospects and wish either was a Cyclone.

I hope not. I wasn't rooting against Lee at states in March. I did find DeSanto's story fascinating, tho dropping to challenge Lee.
Plus in a prior year, a wrestler from our HS (Dustin Steffenino) defense pinned DeSanto on his way to a 3rd place finish at states, so he was a familiar name. But had Lee won, it would have also been a great story.

Love Teske's fire, gas tank and never-say-die attitude! Thomsen was also impressive but he looked like he was a weightclass bigger than Brody to me. Not a surprise since Brody just moved up from 120. Short of a growth spurt, he'd be a prime candidate for a redshirt year out of the gate IMHO.

Need help with my thumb placement.
Good idea. Don't post during a match. Wait until after:

That's the trouble with HR. The other boards are giving it 110%, but HR is still lagging. Can't win nationals with only 109%!

Lose? He wrestles in Iowa. There is no Desanto waiting for him. He wins states with 2 torn ACLs.
