Thornton decommits

With multiple signing periods and the portal, are recruits/players ever definitely committed any more?

Actually. After seeing him out at Oregon, I would have been shocked if he stayed committed.
Which decision should we respect? This one? The last one? The next one? The one after the next one?
I guess there is only one thing left to do...

I'd have more respect for his decision if he were grammatically correct when making it.
They just copy the outline from all of the prior decommit posts they've seen. Just like everything on the internet, once something is popular one time we are subject to endless copycats.
Oh well, 2021. I no longer get excited or upset with commits/decommits. After kids sign then I up my enthusiasm. This is today's recruiting world and add in the transfer portal and you have a constant roller coaster ride for the football staff @ all the schools.
He is overjoyed right now. He'd rather be right on this topic than see Penn State retain talented kids.
I take no pleasure in being correct in this instance. One's an accident, two's a trend. More than 2, it's a movement.
Not to pick on the kid, but "after countless hours of thinking with my family and coaches about this..." makes me laugh. Didn't you put in countless hours of thinking with family and coaches before making the decision to commit?

After visiting Oregon this weekend, I realized I broke my commitment to Coach Franklin about being committed, so I am no longer committed by coach Franklin's policy....
Please respect my decision to break my commitment.

Seems to be the thing with this all about me generation. They must not understand the meaning of committed. Committing to a team this far in advance of when he can sign really is ridiculous and personally don’t care until 2020 is signed
^^^ That was my first thought too when I saw that Thornton's visit to Oregon changed his mind on his commitment to Penn State.
We do know that certain of the Penn State player's communications to Julian Fleming during the 2018 season changed Fleming's opinion of Penn State and its coaching staff.

Any idea how many visits Thornton has taken? Is it just Penn State and Oregon?
EDIT: Okay, I did some research - according to 247, he committed to Penn State without taking any visits to any other schools (save a camp at Virginia). He's offered by OSU, WVU, Tennessee, and Oregon. He visits Tennessee, WVU, and Oregon and decomits immediately after his Oregon visit. My guess is most decomits fit that profile - commit after one visit, and then when they get a look at other schools, they reconsider.

The other two guys you are thinking of, Parks and Moten, are Washington D.C. area guys.
I hope we run the table (of course). Then these guys come back to Franklin to ask for their place in the class again, and Franklin tells them to suck it. Wouldn't that be sweet?
