how can someone as bright as Franklin repeatedly demonstrate clock management issues? Everyone but Franklin knew to call a timeout after the first down play at the end of the first half. I don’t buy the PC excuse, this has happened too many times
I was expecting us to Run the play with three wide to one side with Hamler in the slot more often. None of the Mich DB’s could run with Hamler, why not keep going to the well? It beats the sideways pass behind the line and the Clifford keeper. For a surprise put Chisena I the slot on that play and let him run by a safety
Is it Clifford or the other WR,s fault they aren’t involved more? They are running routes. Are they not getting open or is Clifford not looking their way? At some point our 175 star may not be available and we are going to need someone else to make some plays. Shorter has caught the few balls throw his way and he and a couple of the other guys have shown they are willing to run crosses and quick slants and make tough catches. What gives with the lack of productivity?
Very few sacks last night by either team. Coincidentally, no holding calls on either offensive line. Tough to get to the QB when the refs “let em play”. At least it was called the same both ways
Pass defense isn’t the strength of this team. Pickett now Patterson have their coming out party against our D. The backers really struggle covering the middle of the pitch. And our DB.s rarely make a play on the ball. When Taylor finally does, he lets the ball go right through his arms! Anyone else fear that was going to turn out like AO’s dropped int against MSU last year?
7-0. Just where we wanted to be. Can we slay another demon next week? It’s going to be a challenge getting up for the third week in a row. I think we will need more of a commitment to running the ball with a running back next week. MSU will commit to taking Hamler away. We may also encounter weather one of these weeks that could limit the deep passing game.
