Has some pretty good offers and our staff offered him before Elite11 standout Devin Leary.

thanks for posting the highlights

there's a lot to like:
good size, can throw the ball hard and low, but also deep and with touch, looks downfield while moving around, good TD vs INT ratio
one of the things I like best -- the kid jumped on the PSU offer; he's done his homework, and wants to be part of something big

I like this kid's footwork, size and toughness. Arm is average and his release point is a bit low, but I am not concerned about either. Much has been said of his SPARQ numbers, but they really don't show up much on film. I would have liked to see him take off more in his highlights to gauge his athleticism.

In all, he is a solid prospect.

I like all of our QBs in the pipeline. They are pass-first and run-second. Will's SPARQ and tendency to focus downfield suggest scrambling potential. We need look no further than the Steelers to see how a QB extending pass plays can carry an offense.

Ran a 4.69 40 at PSU camp. Picked up offers from Florida State, North Carolina, Iowa, Syracuse and Ole Miss. Florida State, Iowa this Summer. Coaches liked what they saw. Royboys assessment is on target.

Assuming we are still running the same offense he appears to be a marginal ball carrier. He looks great in the pocket, has a B+ arm but a really quick/short release.

But this offense is about making the right reads and timing. No way to tell on that until he's in a game.

I really like how CJF is recruiting flat out winners at QB.

You look at Trace and Zembiec who were record breaking QBs in HS, Stevens who was a finalist for Indiana Gatorade POY, Clifford who returned from injury to lead his team to an unlikely State Title and now Levis who is producing against the hardest competition in his State, you see they all have that 'it' factor.

They are winners who elevate their game when it counts and that is huge for a QB because their teammates feed off that attitude and elevate their own games.

Give me hungry winners over star rankings all day and twice on Saturday!

No need to evaluate him now. He wasn't offered based on what he will be in 2018 or even 2019. The QB's getting all the attention now are making their choices based on getting on the field as freshman and going pro after 3 years. This is a young man with a 5 or 6 year plan. He will be bigger, faster, stronger and more savvy when he is ready to take the reins. It is not a stretch to say that in 5 or 6 years he will be flat out better than a 5 star who gets to start as a freshman. JF will recruit another QB next year and the beat goes on. Understand temperament, growth potential etc. are all taken into consideration when you are building a roster. This offer was made with the long haul in mind, just like Franklin is building the program and u gotta love that.

Interesting, cannot help but agree.

Hate to call him a "Plan B" recruit but it was an excellent recovery from losing Fields.

He has the size, foot speed and arm strength to be a great fit for PSU, and at least 2-3 years to learn the ropes given what's in front of him from Day 1. His film reminds me a lot of Tommy Stevens, so a lot of upside and no need to rush him into early playing time.

It speaks to the kid's performance that he's earned an offer from everywhere he has camped this year...and a storyline to watch down the line - I will be very interested to see how hard FSU may push for a flip if Fields goes elsewhere.

hmmm I wonder how big their LT is (51)? Kid looks like he has good feet, but I don't know his size or care to look up. I don't like highlight film, would rather watch the whole game, fwiw.

I liked pretty much everything I saw, but he does have one bad habit that both Morelli and Hackenburg had--he waits wayyy too long to throw the ball. I am very confident the coaches can work with him to cut that time down and it does help that he's more mobile than them.

I noticed that, too, but my take was that it looked like his OL was much better than the competition, which afforded him more time to hold onto the ball. It seemed when the D got close, he got rid of the ball.

Of course, this is a highlight tape; I'd like to see what a whole game looked like. For instance, he only threw five interceptions, but did he take a ton of sacks? Have a 24% completion percentage? With 2,200 yards and 25 TDs, I suspect not, but you never know. I thought he looked pretty good, he was poised, and he took a few snaps under center instead of always being in the shotgun.
