Thoughts on the Homeland series finale?

I thought it was very good. this season was very good as well

I think that season 4 when she was the station chief in Afghanistan was the best non Brody season (I think it was better than season 3 in fact)

Good wrap up. It just solidified that Carrie will do whatever it takes to get to what she thinks is the right thing to do for America.

I thought this season was the best since Brody died. Also the finale was up there with Breaking Bad as one of the best and most tense ever. Loved it! Overall, I think that Homeland is a to ten series.
I love this series but I the last few episodes were pretty imaginative. She's facing a boatload of charges, including helping to get the president killed. Yet she is free to go wherever she wants around DC, flies to Israel, talks to the Russians. Somehow her freedoms needed to be explained. JMO

I agree that some of the plot lines were far fetched. That said, she is a spy and she clearly had a fistful of passports and cash that she grabbed from her daughters room.

Kind of torn on the ending, I knew she couldn't kill Saul, but to out someone who has been an asset for 30 some years, idk.. Love the show, top 10 all time for me, but the Brody seasons were the best. I still call my dog Abu Nazir on occasion :D

Right. No way she could kill Saul or allow others to kill him. No reason for her to be involved in his death since everyone assumed she would be the new handler. Also, since the informant ran herself there was no reason to disclose her name to carrie. The switch from being charged with treason in the death of the president to being released with no surveillance was laughable.

I agree. Part of me wanted her to get a bullet in the head. Solid ending though.

The whole series has been about Carie and how far she will go... crazy Carie will go pretty damn far. While I kept telling my wife that the idea of killing Saul was not plausible, I think this was an example of the show runners wanting to demonstrate just how far Carie would go.
