Putin is a KGB psyops expert. He has long pulled off psyops against the US and Europe. He loves pitting one group against the other and stirring up internal strife in his opponents. Time to pull the old switcheroo!
Putin is in a major struggle. His Ukraine invasion has gone terribly, costing far more lives than he bargained for. His country has become a global pariah and economy is in ruins. People are already wondering if he survives this debacle. Putin him self has to have some concerns about trusting his staff. So let’s play on that fear he has to have and move things along.
The CIA or some spook outfit should ‘leak’ to the press that we are talking to ‘high level government officials’ in Russia about a future government after Putin. No one should actually come out and say it but just leak it out there. Say we want to work with his successor and build a better relationship with Russia. Maybe hint about something happening within his inner circle.
Plant this in some outfit like the WaPo or the NYT. Maybe some internet site that specializes in intel work. Then when the press starts asking admin spokespeople about the story they should vaguely deny it so that the press says ‘boy that was a weak denial’. Let the story simmer.
Putin would hear that and get very nervous. Wouldn’t know who to trust and who to fear. His staff would start looking around. Maybe Putin arrests a few or some disappear. Everyone else on staff gets very nervous about their own safety.
