I do not like TN but feel TN got screwed there. Runner was still driving, and looked like he was on top of Purdue player when he stretched out.

That being said F Rocky Top. 🤣

he was on top of the player but they ruled that his momentum had stopped, I have seen it ruled that way before more than once and it sure stings when it goes against your team

I thought you couldn't pull the ball carrier forward only push and If that's the case it should of been a penalty on TN. But the ref said forward momentum was stopped and that's why they couldn't review it. Right or wrong, the ref determined that forward momentum was stopped. So then SEC is 1-5 so far 🤣🤣🤣

Momentum was stopped. Would never have come to that if he just got his kicker closer in reg. 2 bombs were stupid.
What is up with the purdue. Coach calling timeout and icing their kicker. Lol
Momentum was clearly stopped!! Ref was already running in.

His momentum was definitely stopped (and reaching with the ball doesn’t change that). So the question was entirely “was he stopped for long enough to call the play dead?” which is a subjective call by the refs but seemed reasonable given how long there was without movement.

taken a page out of Franklin's play book

I was watching on my phone with no volume so it did not look like his mo was stopped on phone.

TN fan base deserves pain.

Interfering For Or Helping The Ball Carrier Or Passer—ARTICLE 2

Approved Ruling 9-3-2

I. In trying to gain yardage, ball carrier A44 is slowed by defensive players attempting to make the tackle. Back A22 (a) puts his hands on the buttocks of A44 and pushes him forward; (b) pushes the pile of teammates who begin to surround A44; © grabs the arm of A44 and tries to pull him forward for more yardage. RULING: (a) and (b) Legal. It is not a foul to push the ball carrier or the pile. © Foul for assisting the runner. 5-yard penalty with three-and-one enforcement. (Rule 9-3-2-b

His momentum was stopped. I yelled it when I watched it live. Replay in slow motion doesn’t tell the story. Also those tds by Purdue ruled incomplete is same type of bs. Slow motion incomplete where live was 3 steps td same with Catch later that the guy took two steps with ball in bounds and stepped out then hit by ten guy and dropped it and ruled incomplete. Next play purdue was jntercepted. So no whining from tenn.

I remember a game with (I think) Michigan St and Notre Dame where the ND ball carrier fumbled near the goal line and they ruled that his forward momentum was stopped, it sure seemed like BS while rooting against the Irish

didn't PSU get screwed on one of those last year? ball carrier ruled stopped after he had the ball stripped?

Yes, the Illinois game this year. It cost us a TD.

He looked like he was stopped or was down. Maybe his shin had not quite touched, not sure but it was real close. Nevertheless, glad Purdue got the win and another loss for the SEC.

BTW, anyone catch the UT coach. Heupel, telling the ref..."You gotta be f_____ kidding me" when getting the explanation on the call. You could read his lips plain as day.

His momentum WAS stopped. What would you say if you replaced his reach out with a PU player stealing the ball and returning it for a TD? Either way it should've been a penalty for pulling him forward.
