Tried several times, even on HR, to share Nico's takedown, and bonus point wins info...fell on deaf ears. Even facts are not convincing when the dislike is so deeply-rooted. Most often it's better to ignore such unreasonable posts, and let each person's words show their ignorance.

Probably your handle causes the audio disfunction.

Haters are going to hate hate hate.

I would dare for money 99.1% of the annoymous posters regardless of weight they carry today to go 3 periods w nico.

His snaps are violent. His movement is constant. His scoring is up with the best of his term.

His worst matches are against other nat champs.....who would have guessed that. Yes I include Gillman in that. #crystalball
How much dough are you talking?

No...that was me. You copy and pasted it and posted it over here.
Oh... I thought great minds thought exactly alike. It was so like me to cut and paste your HR thoughts so we knew your true feelings shared with your HR brethren. ;) Sometimes I forget your an Iowa fan 1st or just a wrestling fan?? You've gravitated from step brother to brother status here though. As it should be. Just a lover of wrestling.

Don't sweat it...you'll be ranting at me in a few months and I don't think "brother" and "just a lover of wrestling" will be the words you describe.

RE: tOSU 2017.
A lot will depend on if they can land Kaleb Romero (Mechanicsburg,OH). If so, then he will compete at 165 with E. Cleary (who will redshirt this year). Its hard to gauge just how good this kid is, as he does multiple sports (he is a star qb as well), and he doesnt do many summer tourneys. (Tho he did beat Kaleb Young this summer.)

I dont think Jake Ryan is big/tall enough to bump up. He seems to be a career 157.

Micah can bump up. Remember, he wrestled 157 his redshirt year and did quite well. He only cut to 141 last season since Hunter Steiber was at 149 and they needed to keep him there for a possible comeback season (didnt quite work out that way).
2017 may see Micah bump up to 157 and Jake Ryan become a backup, while Key-Shawn Hayes is at 149 and Pletcher at 141. (Pletcher then moves back down to 33 after NaTo graduates)

The problems with tOSUs lineup holes all stem from Ryan going after home-runs for 165. Marinelli was a verbal commit then changed his mind and went to Iowa. Then Ryan went all-in with Mark Hall. Then, got Isaiah White.. but grades. Any of those three in the lineup and its very salty. Now, 2017 - the year where tOSU will peak as per NC potential (Snyder, Tomo and BoJo all Sr, Micah, MyMar as Jrs, and K-S, K Moore both in 2nd year in lineup) a solid 2nd year Isaiah White would have put tOSU right up there with Penn St and Okl St as solid contenders. Now, it turns out they will rely on a RS frsh or a true freshman to score points at 165,

Just some opinions, I could be wrong.

You know, I think Nico has gotten a bad rap from some folks. Nico was plenty aggressive on his feet. He executed a nice shot on Gilman in the finals! In Nico's 2 losses to NaTo last year, NaTo got late winning TD's both times off of Nico shots. I've heard that nickname for Nico before and don't at all believe it's deserved.

It all started at NCAAs his true freshman season when Nico knocked off Sanders and Perrelli to make the finals. Disgruntled fans, either not happy with those particular results or that Penn State was running away with another title started posting that Nico was a staller because he didn't shoot much in those matches. They conveniently forgot that both were red/grey shirt seniors that had defeated Nico previously and that Perrelli in particular was one of the biggest back peddlers in the history of the sport. For the rest of Mega's career, a certain group of bitter fans continued to refer to Mega as a staller despite him being one of the most active wrestlers in college.

Good info - please post more. We need more posters from other camps to provide input.

Yeah, the Buckeyes with a solid 165 would be more than a handful. They'd certainly have more proven talent than other teams and the ability to get bonus points from several guys deep into the tourney.

Perrelli literally ran from the neutral start to the OB line in Cornell's corner and stayed there while the phucking idiot ref called Nico for stalling because Nico stayed in the center of the mat.

Iowa fans always cracked me up. Nico always wrestled like McDonough. Maintain position, surrender nothing and wear opponent down with vicious handfighting and superior toughness. McDonough does it and it is the Iowa way. Nico does it as well and it is stalling.

The Milhoff thought at 125 won't happen as they denied his appeal for release. Milhoff went to appeal and asked for release with the massive change in coaches as well as he stated he was just not happy there and they turned it down. Surprisingly enough Lou told him he would grant the release but Leonard went into appeal and somehow over ruled Lou. Leonard is an assist ad. Not a great start to that marriage!!! Happen to be close to that program..... That could give recruits for OU something to think about!!!

Thanks for this intel. Dag, man. I'd been openly wondering/asking if the OU AD was likely to behave punitively, just never thought an Assistant AD would get in the mix negatively.

I don't disagree with you. Just joking....thus the emojis. Just poking some fun at those who truly think Mega stalls.
I'm not great at interpreting emojis. Thanks for explanation! You can pass my post on to the real culprits! :)

I'm not on HR very often, but I did read some of that over there. Nico doesn't deserve that. I think the fact that Nico was 4-0 career over Gilman/Clark didn't help. Gilman and Clark are great wrestlers--just shows how good Nico is!! He doesn't need me to defend him, but something just makes me do it!

No.... Chief... I've learned to play nice. I'm not a fan of Iowa wrestling as I have the best in the land in my back yard. It's the banter I enjoy. Don't "brothers" do that.... Challenge each other and at the end of the day, have mutual respect for one another. Have their best interest in mind in time of life altering situations that warrant compassion instead of any other feeling.

The idea that Megaludis stalls came from the Hawkeye board. It had no basis, but a lot the nonsense there doesn't have any basis in reality so you have to take those kinds of things with a grain of salt and consider the source.

That match was great. Perelli was dead tired in the 2nd and Nico kept coming. The he left Sanders in a heap in front of the Minnesota bench. Hopefully Nick has the same sort of debut
