recruiting... Michigan wasn't going to stay down forever. And for a program like that, down is a very qualified term--as it would be for many top programs in the absence of scandal. Besides, the surge is 3 3* and 2 4*. It was a good push before the dead period and certainly nothing to sneeze at, but also not like they just landed 5 of the biggest fish ever.

Since the question is on what is up now, I'm guessing it was related to the calendar, state of their competition's recruiting combined with an opportunity to grab some hype in an otherwise down sports media cycle after the return from the summer hype trip. Harbaugh and the others in Ann's Arboretum are very good at playing the media game. That's my .02.

Since Harbaugh’s arrival, pattern suggests it depends on how many 4 stars (read: better prospects) develop a greater interest in UM than they currently have.

So as opposing fans, I guess we’ll hope each has 4 enjoyable years in Ann’s Arboretum.
