1. This season's Ohio State dual. The single best dual meet I have seen in over 45 years. Nolf being out helps here. If he had wrestled, there would have been a lot less drama.

2. The Funtastic Five's finals run last year at Nationals.

3. The undefeated last round of B1Gs in 2011. Every win was needed to come from behind to beat Iowa for the title. The watershed moment for Penn State wrestling, imo.

4. Last night's round. To come from down to 10+ points up was staggering.

5. The Friday night session at Nationals in 2011. Basically iced the first NCAA title in a long time.

Lots of work to do today but I think the young men are up to it. Let's bring home #7!

#3 in your list was incredible and should be 1 imo.

It set the tone for this run. We had a bad Saturday night and Cael & staff challenged the kids. And they responded with perfection

- Cenzo finals last year
- Q standing cradle
- Nico finally breaking through
- DTs first title
- tOSU dual this year
- Friday session in 2011. Made sweeter because my scalped ticket had me in a Cornell section.
- Zain putting Sorensons foot to his head then pinning him.
- Bo spladling the mullett
- 98% of the matches Jason Nolf has wrestled in a PSU singlet.

After Saturday night, I have to make it top 6 because it's unfair to leave any unlisted. :)

Saturday took over the top spot for me. Drama; top performances; guts and balls of steel. Just incredible. We Penn State wrestling fans are soooo blessed.

100% Agreed..not only the pin for the title, but his speech afterwards was unreal! I was going nuts screaming at top of my lungs when they slapped the mat. Then he got me more pumped with the "That's what we do" line.

The wife comes down to check on me..I look her straight in the eye and tell her "THAT's WHAT WE DO!" She shakes her head and goes back upstairs

I would put Zain beating Stieber on the list too. My top 5 moments would probably end up having about 12 moments in it.

The other cool thing about the moments of the Cael era is that it seems like almost everyone on the team has gotten to have their own big moment(s).

Nico - winning it all as a senior, his crazy unpredictable run as a frosh
Conaway - upset of Graff
James English - no explanation needed (edit - pictured above :) )
Quentin - has many but none bigger than the cradle
Ruth - my favorite is when he beat Hamlin in the semis and Tim Johnson said "now he's done showing him respect"
Taylor - every time he stepped on the mat
Zain - beating Stieber, pinning Sorenson
Nolf - pinning Imar
Cenzo - pinning Imar
Bo - he has many but they'll all be forgotten in favor of this latest one
Hall - pin and slamming the hammer at the BJC or the Lewis pin
Rasheed - the scuffle pin run
Cassar - beating Moore
Jimmy G - hitting the 6 point move late to beat Clark at the BJC

I'm sure I've forgotten some.

Throwing a couple more out there:

Skipping the team flight home from OKC nationals to accompany Nico to the hospital.

Telling the alumni "I didn't come here to beat Lehigh." THANK YOU!

Telling the PennLive reporter "I can go across the street (to West Halls) and find a starter. I'm looking for All Americans and national champions."

The item listed are team items.......

If you go individual.......
English
Conaway besting Graff
Cassar
Q
Bo

Not in any order.

I love the fact that James English makes this thread. I have a ton of matches on DVR that I watch while working out... and his is in that Top 5 for me. Plus since it took about 15 actual minutes it is alot more valuable to me than Bo's or Cenzo's or....

Ed Ruth becoming the first Penn State wrestler to be a 3x National Champion. A short four years later, Zain Retherford becomes the second to do the same. And that is so far; we are poised to potentially add three more wrestlers (Nolf, Cenzo and Bo) to that list in just one more year. Incredible!
