Toronto Restaurant Recommendations?

I'm going to Toronto this summer, and would very much appreciate any restaurant recommendations for downtown, and near downtown Toronto. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Definitely hit up the St Lawrence market downtown. Hundreds of merchants selling everything, from cooked meals, to kangaroo meat, pretty much everything is there. One of the world's best markets.

I would take a look at a Zagat's guide and, if you don't mind spending a bit, hit the best ones you can afford. Toronto has plenty of great restaurants and diverse food. Take advantage of it. Chinatown is huge.

avoid Guu Izkaya. I was just there, the most annoying restaurant experience I ever had. The staff shouting and chanting continuously, every time someone came in or out was really annoying. We were waiting outside after for a cab and three other groups pf very disgruntled people came out and made bee line for cabs.....
