Also, "157 Sasso/Gallagher" lol. A slash and a name too long.
I laughed at that as well. If Gallagher beats out Sasso for 157, they got a lot of problems. I don't know how good Hepner is at 165, but it seems he has a couple decent wins. Wouldn't doubt Paddy rides the pine this year.

good point. Lovett, Shayne and Meyer the top 3 favorites coming in?
Probably, though that's pure projection. Shapiro has yet to face an NCAA qualifier in folk. Best wins so far have been Tyler Badgett, Sam Hillegas, and Connor Pierce.

So right now it's hard to put him ahead of Parco (3x AA, 4th last year), Henson (5th), and possibly Mauller (3x AA, 7th).

Top 3 finish isn't unrealistic, just not yet supported with results.

On paper, you should say Lovett is definitely the favorite.

That being said, not only would I take the Shayne that wrestled last March over any version of Lovett I've ever seen, I expect Shayne to make another jump in level. Like I said about Bartlett before last year, 2nd to 3rd year in the room is often when you see PSU hammers take it up yet another level (aka true sophomore to junior or RS freshman to sophomore)

Similarly, Shayne more or less missed his entire freshman year as he only wrestled two very overmatched opponents with a big brace on. Last year, you could see he was learning every match but always stayed aggressive. That giant deficit against Miller more or less woke him up.

As for Meyer Shapiro, yes, he's unproven but he's kind of a "duh" prospect. Every year, some true freshman makes noise and it's pretty obviously him next year IMO. He's very technical and extremely creative as well.

And Shapiro is gonna be big azz 149.

It's a SVN-Shapiro final.

Tan Tom, discussing the 2023 PSU transfers:

"The way they got some people is frustrating."

Also is still harping about having the NCAA team champion based on dual meets.

Yeah - frustrating for HIM! “The Way” he complains about surrounds the fact that the best wrestlers seek out the best coaches. Tan Tom is clearly a very good coach, but, this sort of frustration is endemic if your first name ain’t Cael.

There is no bigger whiner in college wrestling than Tom Ryan. Give me a break. You pursued Truax. You pursued Suriano in 2021. You added Tate Orndorff. You got Joey McKenna. You added Teshan Campbell while he was still a student at Pitt. Not our fault some of your transfers weren't as good and/or you didn't win the recruiting pitch against PSU. Just hypocritical.

I thought you had the great program and PSU just had the great team?

Interviews like that makes it very difficult to respect him sometimes.

Campbell never got DQ'd for stalling while at Pitt. Just sayin'.

You’re not far off. His old team may start twice the amount of transfers as we will this year, but not a peep about Heat Miser and his twin

I’ll never forget the ‘not how we would do it’ whining about the PSU-tOSU dual that was in Rec Hall.

I checked Willie and Mineo twitter before posting and hadn't seen anything. - Edit : I didn't realize earlier Willie's tweets. Now I see pics of Sammy, prayer hands, and Willie X banner changed to Sammy.

Edit - Mineo has since posted.
