tOSU lineup

I wouldn’t be so quick to count out Sammy. He very well could be fully healed by January. Actually, I hope he is.

The post that you quoted was about Tom Ryan saying that Sasso is going up to 157. It happened well before this unfortunate event. It had nothing to do with the current situation.

In any case, I hope he heals up quickly.

My comment was based on sasso at 157…..going off what the op is saying
It's great to hear he is going to fully recover. A blessing. I'll bet he is ready to rumble by October. I like MM or Levi's chances against Sasso a little better than SVN's. No matter it will be fun to watch. Sasso won't win a national championship at 157, and 149 is far from a sure thing either.

Give me any of those 3.
A core injury is the worst, I dont expect him to be 100 % this season.

I'd be surprised if he can go by the end of the year but who knows.
Would it be safe to say Columbus is still safer than Iowa..

I don't know. Big difference between recovering to a normal life and recovering to complete at a high level. He would have to rehab surgeries, then rebuild strength and cardio. That's a big ask in a short time.

Maybe a punt year now for Ryan? They have a fair number of RS & Olys. As long as the kids are on board, Sammy with a medical might tilt the scales in favor.

If I am not mistaken notables would be Bouzakis, Mendez, Sammy (medical), Karchla. I am not sure about Feldman I don't think he has fished higher than 4th at any world's events Cadet, U17 or U20 including both Free and Greco. He has been right there several times in the semis.

Given what we are rolling out and losing after next year, it might not be such a crazy idea. Granted IMO we beat them well into the future.

yeah. no. lol

Ryan doesn't do punt years. The closest they got was redshirting BoJo, Nato and crew. But they had outgoing seniors to compete.

This just means Gallagher doesn't have to sit this year.

tOSU lineup:

125 - Kilkeary
133 - Bouzakis
141 - D'Emilio/Decatur
149 - D'Emilio/Decatur
157 - Gallagher
165 - Hepner
174 - Kharchla
184 - Shumate
197 - Geog/Hofmman
285 - Feldman

And continuing the tOSU/Tom Ryan tradition of "things to say out loud that don't matter on the wrestling mat for 500 Alex" - Feldman is testing better than ALL of the tOSU's linebackers in measurables.

Does that mean D'Emilio is going to have to wrestle two weights? ;)

Seriously, though, if that's tOSU's lineup, I could see Penn State shutting them out.
Guessing that talk about tanshirting Mendez doesn't pan out.

If D'Emilio goes 141, the 149 candidates are:
- Klay Reeves, JR, career 23-23, career 0-4 in duals
- a pair of true freshmen (Brock Herman, Brandon Cannon)

Herman and Cannon are good but not elite recruits. They'll likely need the tanshirt much more than Mendez.

Why would Sasso being in the lineup matter as to whether or not Mendez goes?

They aren't beating Penn State this year, in a dual, at B1Gs or at NCAAs. A year of development for Mendez allows them to mature their 1-2-3 recruiting class (Mendez, Bouzakis and Feldman) and get an additional year with all of them together in the lineup.

Because Tom can count.

And college coaches don't look at "down the line" in the way fans do. I think it's shortsighted - but College coaches fear redshirts more than you would think. Injury, distractions, points - they value that moreso than redshirting a guy. Mendez has legitimate Olympic aspirations, so it will likely come down to how hard he fights for the shirt.
