I have to admit, I didn't have many expectations for this since Rogers was such a unique person. But the trailer shows promise
Am I the only person on the planet that does not like Hanks.......
Am I the only person on the planet that does not like Hanks.......
Great actor, loved him in Forrest Gump, Castaway.......but on talk shows and interviews the guy portrays himself as the acting police the decider of what is good acting or a good movie or someone that is a national hero for curing cancer. He might be a decent guy but to me he comes off as pompous.
With all that said I will watch as Fred Rogers is a national treasure.

I would like to see a scene in the movie with Mr. Rogers reaction to watching Eddie Murphy perform Mr. Robinson on SNL back in the day. Hope it wasn't left on the cutting room floor. For those who want to dig a little deeper on Fred Rogers and this upcoming movie, here's the original Esquire article that the movie is based on:

Splash is pretty good, couldve shown a bit more of Daryl Hannah walking around naked thoughPlease take this opportunity to remember that Tom Hanks' best movie is Bachelor Party.
You are not alone...to me he is Tom hanks in every movie.Am I the only person on the planet that does not like Hanks.......

Well, he is one of the best in the world at pretending to be some other person. That's gotta be worth something.Am I the only person on the planet that does not like Hanks.......

Yep Private Ryan May be his best. That little subtle shaking of his hand was brilliant to relay the stress the character feltNo discussion of Private Ryan in this thread? Capt. Miller was impressive.

This is true for a lot of great actors with limited range:
- Jack Nicholson
- Brad Pitt
- Tom Hanks
- Mark Wahlberg
- Matt Damon
- Clint Eastwood
- Harrison Ford
- Morgan Freeman
Not that they're bad or anything, but they're not going to transform for a role like Day-Lewis, Bale, Norton, De Niro, Hoffman, etc.

Hanks is not a guy with limited range. He started out a comedy actor early in his career. Forrest Gump was some pretty amazing acting. SPR was a very serious role. Castaway, although i was not a huge fan of the move itself was a dramatic role that was extremely difficult to play as it was just him pretty much the whole move. And he can go on SNL and do live TV and ad lib with the best of them. Let's not downplay the guy, he is an elite actor.
And on Sundays or against certain lefties, it's like bringing in Jose Pagan.I'm not feeling Hanks as Mister Rogers. The "Hello Neighbor" accent/affectation by Hanks is strange. It's like Richie Hebner doing a Mr. Rogers impersonation.
