Trivial injuries that really suck.

What is a good example of a contradiction in terms, Alex?

Cant be THAT trivial and suck very bad, by definition. Hangnail is a nightmare on Yo-yo Ma, right?

paper cuts on the thumb or index finger are a real drag, especially

after you realize you have them, and then try to say screw a nut on a bolt, sometimes you cant even grab that thing.

Back in September I broke the second toe on my left foot and the bone got infected so they had to amputate it on Oct 1st.

I never would have thought losing a toe would be such an ordeal. I guess I thought it would be just snipping it off like a carrot, but the wound from surgery came about five inches up the top of my foot.

I was off work for a month and a half. Half days for another month. Ended up getting MRSA and the wound didn't finish healing until the middle of February. And that was with using a woundvac which speeds up the healing process.

It will take a bit longer for the hit to my disposable income to heal!

Arthritis in my jerk-off wrist.

All that long hard work has taken a toll over the years.

He said "trivial injury". What you're talking about is barely a flesh wound.

Damn, man. That is NOT a happy story.

Good luck down the road. Is there any major difference in your balance, stability walking, etc?

I thought I was the only one in the world who got this but the intense, localized, quickly dissipating headaches called "icepick headaches" are trivial but annoying as can be. They are a real thing, I did some googling on it once. The other one I would put in this category is the sinus infection where it presses down on the roots of your upper molars but that's worse than the icepick headache by far. Anway good luck with the toe, that completely sucks.

Getting a piece of skin of your package stuck in your zipper when you decided to go commando that day.

No balance or stability issues. Having never known anyone that lost a toe, I was just naively thinking that I'd be off work for a week or two and it's would be healed up in 4 to 6 weeks. When the Dr. told me that the best case scenario would have it healed by the first of the year (3 months) I thought he was joking. With the MRSA it ended up taking 4 1/2 months to heal.

Yeah usually, unless I have bitten my cheek-meat. Then it sucks.**

Re: Biting the inside of your mouth....and then biting the same spot later*

The worst. Add to that, canker sores.

welcome to the south florida parking lot syndrome

why are there so many accidents in south florida parking lots?

ez. because most of the oldsters here cannot turn their neck to check for incoming vehicles, so they just back up and pray (well, some pray.. most either could give a sh*& or are dazed and confused and oblivious).

anyway, sometimes it works, sometimes.. ba-bang!

Centex, I remember a comedian talking about that and how that was the most painful thing in the world, and he would add with emphasis, "Let me tell you ladies, there's no breathing exercises and Lamaze classes for that!"

Splinter under a fingernail

Cramp in the arch of your foot. Curse of the impatient pizza eater - burn on the roof of your mouth. Yesterday's habaneros' revenge.

splitting the skin on tip of fingers just above nail

Never happened in PAs humid climate, but TXs relative dryness causes this in winter.

Sucks

Re: splitting the skin on tip of fingers just above nail

Oh, but it does every winter.
