First off, Dayton was never a Missouri HS state champ. He moved from Missouri to Apple Valley, MN. He then left AV with like 2 weeks left in a season and tried to wrestle at a small single-A school in MN, but they wouldn't allow it: http://www.startribune.com/two-leav...ng-team-leaving-trail-of-questions/245477271/
The rumor was that he was living in a girlfriend's house and got in a fight with the family/girl. Then, he moved to Bettendorf, IA and finished his HS eligibility. He committed to tOSU at first, I believe.

I don't think he ever competed there due to lifestyle issues. Then he was at Virginia Tech, but left there for Iowa Central JUCO. Left Iowa Central for Clackamas, OR JUCO. Now, he transferred to UVU.

Overall, doing any drinking and drugs in Utah is a poor choice.
