If PSU beats us by 2 TD's I'll shove a lemon up my ass.

IF PSU beats UM by two TDs, and IF MadHatter follows through and shoves a lemon up his ass, I will juice the Ass Lemon and make Ass Lemonade, and then drink the Ass Lemonade... Lock it in!

Now that's disturbing. Is it the Harbaugh effect?

While the spread was not that high, you had to know there was a possibility that we would beat them by two scores. Therefore, I have to conclude that at least subliminally, there is a part of this guy that wants a lemon in his ass, and a part of the second guy that wants to drink the juice from said lemon.

This thread, and the lack of defensible answers as to why PSU’s inside run game is so pathetic, has only confirmed my belief that PSU finishes the regular season....8-4.

NW: (W) narrow victory
Mich: (L) Hairball runs the ball down our throats because we lack fire-hydrant Nose Tackles

I know as Michigan fans we're supposed to have trepidation about all things, but I'm pretty confident in this game.

Obviously it's football so weird stuff can happen (like PSU's absurd win over OSU last year), but I'm not sold on their QB minus Godwin or their defense. Plus Don Brown is a card carrying spread murderer so the easy stuff they rely on won't be there for the second year in a row.

Wanna tell you all something

There was a reason UM kicked the dog shit out of PSU last season and lbers don't normally provide protection for your qb, so don't expect a dramatic change in the outcome of this year's game♣ PSU could win but its difficult to do with a first year qb♣ Even if he does manage to play the entire game, McSorley will be reminded early and often - in fact, those will be the exact instructions from Coach Brown- of last year On about his third hit, he is going to begin mind ****ing himself♣ He is a very fast, mobile qb but when you begin to notice him turning into DLmen because he's imagining them being elsewhere, double your bet if you can get any takers♣ Game, set, match and put the ****ing white pom-poms in storage for another year.

Well you may not see this but

Well you may not see this but saying Penn State returns pretty much everybody is grossly inaccurate. They return McSorley, Barkley, Gesicki (who is more Funchess than Butt), and Cabinda. They lose their top receiver, their best 2 or 3 D Linemen, 2 starting LBs, and their best corners (one to a spring injury, out for the year).

Penn State's defense will struggle mightily against comptetent teams that don't turn the ball over, aka us, OSU...Iowa? Pitt? If Matt Canada's offense is still chugging along without Peterman and Conner, Pitt could put 50 on the Penn State defense this year.

Their offense will be good as long as McSorley has time and Barkley has lanes. That should get them at least 8 wins, but their OL will be extremely outmatched in their games against us and OSU. The other two games idk.

I expect Penn State to win 9 games this year. They're good, but they're not top 10. They have a lot of questions all over the field when you look past a couple all-conference players.

Well I think we are all

Well I think we are all homers here...

With regards to their defense, they only bring back one player (Cabinda) that they were missing in their blowout loss to us a year ago. Both DEs are gone, both non-Cabinda LBs are gone, their top CB Reid is out for the year. 1 good MLB and 1 good S can't alone make up a good defense. Now, their replacements may end up being good, but it's sill to predict that they will have a good defense based on what is known right now. Florida, Wisconsin, OSU will certainly be better on defense than Penn State. Air Force could be more formidable if they give up fewer big plays. Penn State's D will be good enough to win the good majority of their games, but it is not one of the 3 toughest on our schedule and it's not markedly improved from the defense we put 49 on last year.

All Conference

By the time the games goes off the line will be close to even. Michigan has more talent. And McSorly will throw some picks on his lobs I would take Speight over Mcsorly as he was clearly the better QB last year I have a feeling Levert Hil gets a pick six and michigan continues to own Franklin who goes to 0 and 4. And forget about beating M in Ann Arbor next year as we have nearly our whole team back The bottom line is McSorly is a good college QB but not a pro prospect and he will struggle against a top d.

I mean, I know you're a PSUer but still, on what basis is 7 points a reasonable prediction? Could you humor me and make the argument in as unbiased a fashion as you can, given the result on the field last season, your additions/attritions, and our additions/attritions? Because I have not seen anything in our previous game, our roster changes, or even your subsequent play after our matchup that shows me you should be favored by 7. In the words of Mugatu, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills re PSU, and it'd be nice to see somebody make sense of it all.

As long as Franklin is the head coach at PSU they won’t be for real. He’s their Brady Hoke. They got a lucky bounce on a blocked kick to beat OSU last year and caught an absurd number of 50/50 balls, I saw somewhere it was like 75%. That luck won’t continue. I see 2016 PSU like 2011 Michigan, a decent team that caught some great breaks (Michigan had great fumble luck and caught a ton of 50/50 balls too). James Franklin is not a good coach, sorry I just don’t see him ever leading an elite team. They’ll recruit well and be a thorn in Michigan and OSU’s sides but I don’t see them winning the Big Ten East again the way Michigan and OSU are recruiting, not to mention they actually have elite coaches.

Can somebody explain to me where all this penn state hype is coming from? I just don't understand it looking at their schedule from last year.

I know they had the osu win, but there were like 4 mediocre teams flirting with the same result last year against osu (msu, Indiana, etc).

So what was it? Beating Wisconsin (ignoring that they backed in to the B1G championship by Michigan losing two of the last 3 game)? Choking away a huge lead late to USC? I know that offense is legit, but their defense is still atrocious. The top 5 rankings look pretty unwarranted

I don't see who the fourth potential loss could be. Do people really think James Franklin can pull something off after Jim ate his lunch in a 49-10 drubbing last year?

Red_Lee 1 point 1 month ago

Our defense rotated a lot and got plenty of experience against PSU.

Offense should be better for sure. Defense will be fine. Harbaugh is better than Franklin.

ShittyPlaceKicker 2 points 1 month ago

It's weird to see Penn State fans to think they're more relevant than the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry despite one good season in a ****ing decade.

CFBwork 4 points 1 month ago*

Agree completely. I have a hard time remembering a cockier group of fans than PSU fans this offseason. Even Ohio State fans are cautiously optimistic about beating certain teams every year. PSU fans are already counting Pitt and Michigan as wins on their schedule (see top of this thread). Karma will be pretty funny this year.

Well Barkley hasn't ever done shit against any Michigan defense, and our run defense should actually take a step up this year with faster linebacker play. Our DL is still going to be starting 4 future NFL players and some talented guys who will turn into NFL players on the two deep. That leaves McSorely putting up 50/50 deep balls to beat us, and despite the departures in our secondary we will be taller and faster back there. Experience will be an issue in the secondary, but we have reason to be confident in our coaching staff. Considering this great PSU offense couldn't put up more than 3 points vs our first string and didn't get a TD until our 3rd/4th string was in, yea we have reasons to be confident about shutting down PSU again.

that PSU beats us this year. They also loose to OSU. To finish above us, we would have to lose at least 3. Ain't gonnna happen.

There's no coin flip

UM is more talented and has a huge coaching advantage. UM by 14 after PSU quits.

You're making the mistake

of assuming PSU is some kind of world beater. Beating them on the road isn't going to be some great feat by the time the game comes around.

The problem with how Penn

The problem with how Penn State is looked at is that it is too one sided. They really do not have a very good defense and lost there two top lineman and there best DB is out for the year. They will have an extremely large number of points scored against them and will struggle with teams who have really good defenses and can apply pressure. A team who loses by 39 points to anyone should not win the Big Ten. If they suffer any type of injury in there offensive backfield they will finish around .500 and healthy there season will still disappoint the faithful and Matt Millon and that will make me happy.

This one is gold. Michigan has found the next Brady Hoke and his name is Jim Harbaugh. At the end this moron says he can't see Penn State ever winning the B1G East again. I wonder if he can tell us how many times Michigan has won the B1G East?? Yeah, it's an elite coaching staff in Ann Arbor.
