See the link below. From the article:

"Two suspended Nebraska football players were arrested Tuesday and are facing felony charges in connection with a report of a sexual assault, less than a week after a university investigation determined that they violated sexual misconduct policies.

Redshirt freshman Katerian LeGrone was booked on a charge of first-degree sexual assault, and redshirt freshman Andre Hunt was booked on a charge of first-degree aiding and abetting sexual assault, Lincoln Police Capt. Duane Winkler told Outside the Lines on Tuesday.

Outside the Lines reported last week that a university investigation found that the "greater weight of the evidence" supported that the two men "engaged in sexual assault and sexual harassment, in violation of university sexual misconduct policies" on Aug. 25 at their off-campus apartment. They were suspended indefinitely from the football team on Aug. 26 and they face a two-and-a-half-year suspension from the university."

Please take this opportunity to remember that Penn State has a culture problem.

Let's be fair. There can be knuckleheads in every program. There may be people that make horrible decisions in every program. IMO, if I am reading this correctly, Nebraska did everything correctly.

a) They got the info and did not hide it, instead they investigated it
b) The info the got with their investigation, seems like they issued an honest assessment
c) Their investigation was finished on 8/25 and the very next day, 1 day later on 8/26 they took action and suspended the players

In this case. IMO ... blame the 2 knuckleheads, do not blame Nebraska.

They should have just thrown her down a flight of stairs, and they would have been fine.

I think you are referencing some things that happened at Nebraska 25 years ago, and about 4 coaching staff removed. Really not fair to imply program guilt on this staff now, on how a staff handled things 25 years ago. We definitely do not like it when our program, and this current staff is associated with pedophiles

I don't want to speak for other posters, but I think that some of these comments are because in a certain thing that people don't like to speak of that came to light in 2011, PSU did all the right things, but got excoriated anyway. Just my opinion of why you often see posts like this.

Well stated, Kiber. Nebby found out on 25th, they were kicked off team. Now potentially suspended from university for 2.5 years. Looks like Nebraska handled it pretty well. Those two will never see the field in Lincoln. I hope it's a dumb, immature act, they pay their dues and somehow become contributors to society. Unfortunately, I don't hold much hope.

One more reason to be thankful to have Coach Franklin. He has run a near pristine program and deserves all the credit in the world for seeing his young men get an education and stay out of trouble.

To be fair, and I don't want to seem like I am nitpicking, but I don't think we can say "PSU did all the right things" in that case. Perhaps the football team did, but not necessarily PSU as a whole.

PSU (specifically the BOT) did not do the right thing post 2011. But the university (PSU) did the right thing in 2001.

Come on let's be real. Some good people make horrible decisions. But to state a generality that this could not happen at Penn State because Franklin runs a clean program is BS.

We do not know these guys from Nebraska. We do not know if Frost took a risk and recruited a couple bad guys for the sake of winning games. We do not know if they are good kids who come from great families.

There was a case involving a Stanford athlete a few years ago. I want to say he was a swimmer for Stanford. If I remember he assaulted a girl who was passed out??? The guy seemed like he came from an excellent family...... In that case, how would the Stanford Coach had known during the recruitment that this guy was capable of that act??? How could have the Stanford Coach prevented that guy from going out, getting drunk, and then assaulting a girl on way home?? How would that be an indictment on the Stanford coach ?

The coach wouldn’t know about it beforehand, but after he was charged, hopefully he would be smart enough to kick him off the team and not play him when a national championship was on the line, much like Saint Osborne did.

I agree. I believe "Penn State" stopped doing the right hing when Curly dropped the ball. I do not believe Curly acted to cover up

I 100% agree. A coach can not know where ALL of his players are at, ALL of the time, and what they are doing. .... But it's the action they take after it's reported. And from the article attached in the OP. The alleged crime took place one day and the very next day Nebraska took appropriate action.

Sorry, where did I say this could not happen at PSU? Not sure where you get that from.

My point was that this -- or something like this -- COULD happen at Penn State. Your original post was that Franklin runs a good clean program ... as if something like this could not happen at Penn St. Franklin (or any staff) could do everything right. They could recruit a good and use their best judgement on his personality. They could provide all of the advice & guidance once a kid is on campus .... but the kid could still pull a dumb stupid knucklehead move.... It has nothing to do with Franklin (or Scott Frost) running a clean program.
