Tyseer Denmark

I wouldn't get too excited about him, Franklins track record recruiting WR is not very good. I count 23 recruited and 3 really good ones in KJ Hamler, Jahan Dotson, and Parker Washington. Godwin was partially recruited by Bill if I remember.

247 composite ranked Denmark 3*, 528 nationally, and 76 best WR.

We've had lower rated players including walkons who have excelled but I sure hope we're not hanging our hat on that for next year.

That room from coaching to recruiting to playing is a hot mess. Something has to change for the better and quickly.

While those leaving is probably an even swap for those coming in and who are here there is a huge amount of work to do. There are no Jackson's or Robinson's coming in or on the roster. If we could put an average group on the field, it would probably be an upgrade. I know that's harsh but it's my assessment at this time, however, that is subject to change after spring. Hopefully.

Who enters the portal late? I know KLS but it seems like those in the April portal just learned that they weren't likely to start at their current school.

Denmark caught 3 TDs in the Big 33 against Maryland, including one I saw on the highlights which I don’t recall any PSU receiver making: a 50/50 ball. Time will tell.
Everybody wanted Denmark out of HS. You don't have an offer list like his if you can't play. He was committed to Oregon before changing his mind and also had offers from Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, Alabama, USC, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Michigan, among many others.

We'll see what our coaches get out of him.

I know that it was against Kent, but he made a nice combat catch in that game.

I think we would have seen more of him in 2024 if he was better than Wallace or Evans. Of course he's young and he might improve.

He may have needed to get his feet under him in College - as I told my Freshman Daughter at PSU - this isn't High School and the classes are not the same even for Athlete's who have been hand held all through High School and while they are still get help at PSU I think they still need to make the grades - at least to a certain extent.

I think that Franklin wanted to limited his time so as to preserve his redshirt. I disagree with this practice, but he mentioned it several teams this past season regarding the frosh like Speca.

Right. Don't count the great one who played for Franklin and was signed by Franklin.

Unfortunately college most athletes take easy majors. There are also full time people in the Lasch Building to help them through.

Urschel was unusual.

He certainly displayed a burst and a willingness to mix it up for the ball. I liked what little we saw of him. Certainly, showed more in his limited chances than the two starters imo.

Does Denmark have relatives in Greenland? Asking for a friend.

Was Hagans the WR coach from 2001-2004?
2001 and 2002 had Bryant Johnson and Tony Johnson. In 2003 Zach Mills couldn't throw the football more than 30 yards down the field, and in 2004 we had Chris Ganter at QB for two games.

Sorry but I'm not letting you use the dark years to scapegoat Hagans and his D2 room

Those numbers don't say much. For some reason at one time he was a high 4 star and one of the top players in the state.

I love the recruiting "guru's" as much as anyone....but half the time they are full of shit.

I certainly agree that the recruiting gurus aren't always correct but I disagree if you think they're usually wrong.

Teams with the best ranked recruiting classes are usually the ones that dominate the top 10.

I understand that. I am saying how hard is it to see a guy with all the tools and project them? Its not a sicence. I deal with this in baseball all the time. Got a guy that is so full of shit. He looks at a 6'4'' 225 guy that throws low 90's and says "that son of a bitch can play".

the gurus are the guys that can see a 3 star is going to be a good player.

You could probably be an online recruiting guy. Its about relationships and going to the right places.

Find me the guy that finds guys that don't do the camp circus and thats the guru.

In 2002 we had 26 players in the 8th ranked class in CFB. This is the Allar, DDS, AC class. Out of 26, 12 have made a difference in the game. And that was being generous giving Pribula and JB Nelson the nods. Thats 46%. I believe both of us could get 46% correct. Also in 2002 the Suckeyes had a class of 22. Im no Suckeye insider but in my calculations they hit on less than 8 thus far. 8/22 is 36%.

What percent of players do you thin any school hits on? They sign about 125 every 5 years and have 22 starters.

Who was the QB coach in 2003 and 2004?

PS. Larry Johnson + Tony Johnson + Bryant Johnson and they still lost to Toledo.

I think you mean class of 2022. The highest rated recruits:
Allar
Singleton
Sutton
Saunders
Shelton
Miller
Allen
Ivey
Flowers
Carter

Most of the top recruits contributed. Saunders & Ivey haven’t done much given our WR issues. Miller contributed but struggled. Flowers is transferring.

We haven't recruited at that level in the past 3 years.

The lowest rated players in that class were Artis, Johnson, Mills, McNeil, and Bacchetta. None of them have contributed.

yes, 2022. but look at that list and tell me you couldn't have given allar, singleton, and sutton high grades? IMO they underestimated Carter.

Like I said, they do great work and grind. But what they do isn't a science.

Tyseer Denmark is the real deal- will see next year. Franklin insisted on not burning his redshirt which turned out to be a mistake.

Saw him at Big 33 (MVP) with three athletic TDs where he went up and took ball away (MVP). He was so good they rested him after half.

In Maryland game, Pribula threw to him for TD in end zone on last play- gut the MD coach ruled up.

He has speed to get separation- KJ Hamler type guy.

Andrew Olesh will be hard to cover and has a tall receiver body now and will grow to be TE. He’s too game ready— Kotelnicki will get him on field. Quinton Martin in slot with Katron and Singleton and ability to throw to any of the three or the TEs etc will create a lot of explosive plays. Just need another 1-2 receivers and we will dominate. Kyrie Hudson, maybe one of the redshirt or true freshman- great opportunity. ?Portal in spring

National coaching guru and player position expert "Greg in Pitt" has declared Martin to be a running back only. Please accept this as fact and move on 😂

After all, he posts in bold letters 😂
