U.S. Postal Service Q2 loss widens to $1.3 billion, while revenue rises

Can someone explain why we get Sunday delivery? How much does that cost in OT?

They don't deliver mail on Sundays, they deliver packages. They do so in order to get a piece of the Amazon package delivery business which, contrary to what Trump claims, is a good deal for both the Postal Service and Amazon..

Let’s see what happens when we force UPS or FedEx to deliver junk mail or a first class letter for $.50...

Money talks and bullsh!t walks.

I am all for the post office and them losing money to me isn't an issue.

But that said, it is a piece of crap and it needs to be improved.

I bet almost any company could deliver mail at $.50 profitably if given the network the USPS has.

The 47 cent letter delivery is profitable. It’s the pensions of former, current and future employees that aren’t even hired yet that is bringing them down.
