I am a disciple of Joe and probably scripted most of his play calling.
There have been times when I scratched my head, but I came to the realization that
these coaches are damn smart. Now I ask myself, why did they do what they did?
For example, timeouts. They have the same cards that Belichek has. Those timeout cards are designed for a different era than when Joe coached. A two minute drill moves at a yard
a second. Far less important turn burn the clock down since your opponent can move that fast. This has helped me to understand decisions much better. Lots of people don't like math, but it sure is working.
I suggest to all my friends that instead of complaining, try to figure out why they did something. Often times it's like the knight explaining logic to the masses in Monty python...she's a witch!
