Seems to be happening pretty often.

A black employee at Boeing has filed a federal lawsuit against the plane manufacturer alleging racial discrimination after he said he found a noose hanging near his desk and signs near his workspace bearing the N-word, according to reports.

Curtis Anthony, a quality inspector on the 787 Dreamliner at the plant in North Charleston, SC, alleged that unidentified white co-workers have repeatedly used the racial epithet in his presence and also urinated on his desk several times beginning in April 2017, the Post and Courier reported.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Workers who sued General Motors after nooses and racist graffiti were found at its largest U.S. transmission plant nearly two years ago are still facing racial harassment, their attorney said Thursday.

Just this week, one of the workers found a monkey doll and a racist drawing near his work station, said attorney Michelle Vocht.

The harassment has been ramping up since December — including threatening and racist messages left on restroom and factory walls and near machines where the employees work — after workers began speaking out publicly, she said.

Nine workers sued GM last April, saying the company didn’t do enough to stop racial harassment that stretched over four years and included the discovery of five nooses in the spring of 2017.

I’m sure it’s all just a big misunderstanding.

The noose itself may not be. But using it in an intimidating manner probably is.

Definitely. Or it could have been some bored person just trying to make a lasso out of a string. Or it could have been a hoax, which are also pretty popular of late.

There is a long pattern of these kind of hoaxes on college campus going back at least 20 years. The national media trips over themselves breathlessly to report them. When they turn out to be hoaxes the media has already moved on to the newest outrage.

.There is also a long pattern of people doing these kinds of things, Statistical analysis will tell you that the data points that establish the pattern of people doing these kinds of things greatly outnumbers the data points that establish the pattern of people doing this as a hoax.

Sure, if that was the intent. I don't see anything indicating intent. Nor do I see a picture of it. So I'm not even sure it's really a noose and not a lasso. Heck, I could see someone seeing some innocently coiled up rope thinking it's a noose -- because people aren't that smart these days.

Then again, not like the media ever sensationalizes a story though. So it's gotta all be legit regardless of the outcome of the actual investigation.

I thought we had learned our lesson about following the media narrative before we see the actual evidence. I guess not.
