Unofficial Stillers-Packers game thread

I think we’ll be alright. They remind me very much of the late 90s/early 2000s; they have the coach, the defense, and several talented young players on offense. Need to draft a quarterback and keep investing in the offensive line. I trust them to figure it out.

Other than the Bears and Lions who can they possibly beat this year? Lose to Denver and Seattle like I would think they will and then they should spend the last part of the Year Getting Rudolph and Haskins reps. Take their top five pick and trade back for an extra first-rounder and maybe two seconds and then try to to get two offensive lineman and a corner with their first three picks.

No qb not even Brady could succeed with this offense line. None!!!!!!

Was busy so may have missed it but why did it take until late third quarter for Freirmuth to be targeted? Announcers raves about him, the team raves about him, Ben raves about him. Yet nothing until late in game.

And don’t remember hearing any TE mentioned.

The OL is young and taking its lumps early. If the 3 young guys (including 2 rookies) start to gel and show progress towards the end of the season, then you use that impending top 5 pick for your next QB. The Steelers aren’t a franchise that gets too 10 picks very often. Strike while the iron is hot and get Ben’s replacement (albeit a few seasons too late).

Interesting stat - Ben was pressured on only 7% of his snaps yesterday, which is the lowest percentage for a losing quarterback since 2013. The line played ok, it’s all on Ben.

No it’s not. Steeelrs adjusted to throw quic Throws because the line couldn’t hold early. How many yards did Harris rush for?
62.

they instead had to throw it to him 7 times with quick hitters

NFL and all sports for that matter need to start making officials responsible for bad calls. That blocked FG call was a total game changer. The Steelers offense was bad, Canada is over his head, but that call totally gave GB the game. The Steelers would have went into the locker room with a lead instead they were down a TD.

That said, the Steelers need to move on from Ben. The man is a HOF and probably one of the best players they have ever had, but his time is over. It's always sad and is hard to make these decisions, but the Steelers had every chance this offseason, in fact every aspect was in place with no Pouncey, McDonald, Decastro to move on from Ben and they didn't.

They are going to have to see what they have in Mason sooner or later, cause the QB class this year is horrible, and I just don't see them stretching to draft a Sam Howell or Matt Corral. This draft should be about the OL in taking a Evan Neal or Green from A&M.

I love Harris and Pat Freiermuth, but after losing 3 OL, I am not sure not taking a OL in first 2 rounds wasn't the right call.
