Upcoming Saturday non-PSU games discussion thread

Kent State at Maryland.
Last Sat., Kent, 3rd qtr., drove 75 yards to the Iowa 1 yard line. 1st and goal. Running back fumbled it into the end zone - reaching for the goal line. Woulda been 16-14 Iowa.

Iowa fans, on their boards, have commented about how fast Kent's defense gets to the ball, and how hard-hitting they are. "Kent State brought the wood!" "Wow... how did some of these dudes end up at Kent State?"...

It was 30-7….apparently the only wood they brought were the shoes they were wearing.

It was much closer game than that final score would suggest. The fumble into the end zone took the will out of the KSU team.

Actually I watched the game and it was close until very late...The Kent fumble was on 1st and goal from the 1, and it was just a stupid panic by the kid trying to reach the ball over the goal line needlessly.

Q1: Can Buttgers show up and take down UM in the Little House???
Who do you have in ND vs Wisconsin in Chitown? ND has the better QB in Wisconsin castoff Jack Coan, but ND has lost both starting offensive tackles and their OL is struggling. ND's Safety, Hamilton is all over the field and Wisconsin gets their other starting LBer back in the lineup. Wisconsin QB Mertz has been unimpressive in his first 3 games, no TD passes, several interceptions.
Looks like an ND victory, unless Wisconsin defense can get a few TOs, giving their offense a short field.
ND has better skill players @ QB, RB and WR.

I think the QBs are similar in talent. I think Wisky in a close one.

I'm looking forward to ND @ Wisc and Neb @ MSU.

ND has squeaked by so far. If the can somehow beat Wisconsin our win in Madison becomes less impressive. If Wisconsin wins I'll enjoy the ND loss. Coan vs Mertz.

Nebraska played Oklahoma tough. They can prove that wasn't a fluke by beating MSU. A MSU win tells me that they are somewhat for real.

I don't see ND beating Wisky, but playing in Chicago will make the game pretty much a home game for ND. Other than PSU, it's about the only game I'd like to watch this Saturday, and I'm hoping Wisky pounds the Domers....... But since the Wisky/ND game is also at noon I may just tape it and then watch it if Wisky does pound ND.

I'm also hoping the Hoopies can give Oklahoma a scare or two......

Par for the course that Wisky is a 6 point favorite, yet the reportedly unbiased voters in the polls have ND slotted above Wisky. Go figure......
