Updated summary of BOT meeting actions

Barry's depiction of events is accurate based on my observations from the public meeting on Friday. As Alice Pope attempted to take issue, very professionally, while addressing process and the fact that certain trustees are being excluded from receiving information or from meetings, Dambly went on an extended tirade that can only be described as "scolding". The takeaway - Alice is welcomed to express her opinions in private but if she does so in a public session, then she is going to be accused of mischaracterizing events and worse. He had no problem giving her the smack down, in public, and there was no challenge to him. It was embarrassing - not for her - but for him. She clearly hit a nerve. I will clip and post the video as soon as it is available.

Thanks for sharing. Clearly, you care a lot about this. More than me anyway. But, I'm wondering if the actions here are that much different than what goes on at other universities (honest question). How does the contracting process work at Penn State? Are there even bids? Nearly $200k per room renovation seems insane. Is there another, tangential project included with the room renos? I guess it's easy to spend money when it isn't yours.

Either way, it's why I don't give anything to Penn State. These guys are clowns.

I view "these guys" as very dangerous persons. I really don't believe anything is beyond their reach.

I meant like this kind of clown....
