I did hear on the radio this morning that he said if the Cowboys wanted him, he would do it. That pesky health problem that only pops up when he needs to bail out of a trouble situation.Am Radio just said details being worked out. Thought he retired, again?
And that Urban Cowboy was good, unlike this remake would be.I hate remakes its already been done, Urban Cowboy....

IIRC they have a prohibition relative to the players and the cheerleaders, I wonder about the coaches??I'm sure that pesky "health" problem won't resurface in Dallas
That’s a really interesting observation. I would think that without the constant year round grind of recruiting an NFL coach would be able to concentrate on X’s and 0’s especially if he didn’t have front office responsibilities. I have a hard time believing that the pressure to win is much greater at any NFL job than OSU. But then again that’s just my take since I’ve never done either. If Urban thought he worked hard in Columbus or Gainesville, he hasn’t seen anything like an NFL grind.
He’s a great coach, but I struggle to see how he has the desire to make that jump at this point in his career.

they just fired the coach at Gettysburg college, and he doesnt make anywhere near what these guys go!! The pressure is the same everywhere. While in the pros you dont have to recruit, but you do have to get ready for free agency, the draft, off season etc etc. That’s a really interesting observation. Pretending and lying do cause a person a lot of stress. On the flip side, there are no recruiting and practice rules to worry about. It'll be a huge relief for him to not have to pretend he's complying with anything.

Being an NFL coach is a 24/7/365 job. These guys get about 4 weeks off after the May mini camps and before training camp in July. The rest is all prep work, game planning, practice, film, draft and free agency prep, etc. It never ends for NFL guys.On the flip side, there are no recruiting and practice rules to worry about. It'll be a huge relief for him to not have to pretend he's complying with anything.

I lived in DC when the Redskins tried this with the ol’ Ballcoach. They couldn’t get him to stop playing golf and focus on the task at hand. It did not go well and neither would this.
The guy is a legend and worth well into 8 figures. Wtf would he do this for in his mid 50s?
Spurrier is a fantastic reference point for Urban. There are lots of similarities there.I lived in DC when the Redskins tried this with the ol’ Ballcoach. They couldn’t get him to stop playing golf and focus on the task at hand. It did not go well and neither would this.

I agree. I have to choke down my own bile to admit this out loud, but Urbs is really good at this analyst thing. I'd bet between Fox, ABC & ESPN he could more or less demand his own asking price to be a studio analyst for them. ..... Why would a guy is 55, and supposedly has health issue, be willing to give up the cushiest gig on Earth as a studio analyst, making tons of $$$.... for what is probably the most stressful job in North American sports. Think about it. Is there a more stressful head coaching job in North American sports that the Head Coach of Jerry Jones' football team?

That’s what I love about you Wolvie. My mother just died, my daughter was kidnapped today by sex traffickers and my brother was just sentenced to life without parole. But you’re posts are just so damn funny I just forget about everything and laugh.I think it will come down to Lincoln Riley or Josh McDaniels. Just don't see Meyer in Dallas.
The coach that almost every NFL owner would love to hire - based on his previous, unbelievable NFL success - is, of course Jim. But the owners know he's locked into UM is on the verge of great things..
Guess this means he'll bring Zach Smith in tow?I'm sure that pesky "health" problem won't resurface in Dallas
No practice rules to worry about?? NFLPA might have something to say about that.On the flip side, there are no recruiting and practice rules to worry about. It'll be a huge relief for him to not have to pretend he's complying with anything.

Twice the coaching work in the NFL. You can’t simply out-talent 80% of your opponents in the NFL. You have to coach your ass off and that requires round-the-clock work.Except that all he has to do is coach; no recruiting.

Confused. I always thought Jerry Jones was a pretty smart business man.... He is willing to name a "CEO" of his multi-billion dollar organization to a guy with "heart problems" and "head problems". Gheez. I wonder if good old Urbs got miraculously cured and convinced Jerry he is fit for the long haul.
Why would any coach who is used to being the head man work for Jerrah?
I am convinced that the great CFB coaches enjoy that aspect of it most. It’s easy compared to real coaching and schematic film work. And no time wasted kidding the asses of high school players and boosters.
Urby Heartaches and Headaches. What a fraud. Best front man for a corrupt cartel. Would be perfect for the cowboyzConfused. I always thought Jerry Jones was a pretty smart business man....
