Starocci’s gonna go to Kentucky. And then he’s gonna go to New Jersey. And then he’s gonna fly all the way to Croatia and win a world championship!

Words can't do this GIF justice. You need to hear the scream at the end to appreciate it!

Cannot believe how gassed Dake looked. Seemed like the no cut would help him more.

Feel like his heart isn’t in it. Might be too invested in the pseudoscience “wellness” grifting.

I dunno, he was working so hard in the 2nd period. I think anyone would have gassed doing what he did. Ironically what he needs to do to beat Zahid is limit Z’s scoring more.

Yeah I don’t think Dake had a tank issue. He had a trying to claw out of a 5-0 hole against a guy who can just drop to his knees issue.
Will add it's concerning he wasn't close to scoring his own takedown. Virtually impossible to push someone significantly bigger than you out 6 times in 3 minutes with the grounded rule.

I doubt international refs will allow that.
I swear, it seems like every year UWW says something is a point of emphasis—US refs take it to heart and call matches that way (penalizing intentional grounding—though not enough vs Zahid). Then you get to worlds and the world refs just do the same stuff they always do with no attention to the point of emphasis at all.

His counter score game also seems much more limited so far at 86 too. Did he score a chest wrap against anyone good this weekend?

Didn’t Zahid just walk over to Cael and Varner, give a couple of gang gestures, and mouth “F Penn State.”…or did I just imagine that?
Did that really happen? Zahid and Anthony seem to come from two different families. I know Anthony had one or two hot moments when his adrenaline was still running high, but if you’ve ever met him, you’ll find he’s a very polite young man. I also know he was a very good student. Zahid seems to be the better wrestler but I think Anthony is going to have a better future.

It sure as hell looked like that happened. I rewound it and had everyone in the room look at it and they all thought the same thing. Not really sure what the gestures were, but they did not look very nice. I’m old though…so I could be misinterpreting.

I love being able to watch all this wrestling on Flo, but for years now in their freestyle and greco match video titles they often use lbs. instead of kg. You would think that would be a pretty simple thing to fix, but I guess I will have to continue being disappointed : )
