The SEC has Georgia/Florida/Tennessee on one side and Alabama/LSU/A&M on the other side....not even including Auburn. Yes, those schools aren't always elite but neither has Penn State or Michigan been elite consistently.Nonsense. Alabama and UGA almost never play in the regular season and it has worked out fine and dandy for them and the SEC, significantly better than if they played annually.
The name of the game is minimizing losses above all else. The sec gets it, the big ten doesn’t.
To maximize TV contact you need marquee matchups. It would be shocking if we don't play at least two of Michigan, Ohio State and USC a year. It would also be disappointing with the playoff expanding.
