When Penn State positively needed a big win over an elite BIG Ten team to keep a dream season on course... Penn States defense... Paul Posluszny and the Penn State defense came up big in one of the biggest games in Penn State history. And one of the LOUDEST games. Tambi Hali with probably the most recognizable defensive turn over to end a game in Penn State's storied history. One for the ages. Penn State wins... 17-10. Goes on to an epic season and wins in the Orange Bowl in 3 OT's over Florida State.
I was there in Miami. Game traffic was soooo bad and backed up... my girlfriend who was driving at the time... let me scale a ten foot chain link fence to get into the Dolphin Stadium parking lot... where I met a group of Latino's making burritos in the parking lot before the game. Just like Beaver Stadium...
The game ended at 1:15 in the morning and I got a Florida State drunk student thrown out of the game for doing the tomahawk chop in my face... the entire time 1st quarter. The Penn State fans around me sent him off... to a tomahawk chop... as security dragged him up the steps still insisting he had done nothing wrong. Where do we start? He missed a great ending as Penn State stormed the field as Kevin Kelly's kicked slid inside the right upright. Michael Robinson with a great speech after the game. Gave his body up for the bowl win. Looked like he was brutalized after the game. Guts of steel. Biggest heart of any Penn State player I ever saw play.
