I never thought I would see that happen to Spencer. My have the mighty fallen this year!
Not a good night for the usually impressive light weights. Fix tortured DeSanto in third period ride.
Thats the first time I’ve seen or even heard of Spencer getting pinned, and Ive known the kid since his early days with Saegertown, Meadville Eagles, and Bad Karma. Never thought I’d see this.
Interesting that as intuitively knowledgeable as every Hawk fan is about wrestling, none of them had a clue about when Lee was last pinned. They had to rely on helpful Penn State and Pa fans who somehow knew this pre-Cael wrestling lore.
Light weight U is sure letting Spencer down in a big way. He looks over trained and mentally exhausted to me. The kid may want to consider a change of scenery before the wheels fall clear off the cart.
Or maybe find a coach who doesnt dodge the tough competition until the last dual of the year .Tough way to end your regular season.
I sincerely hope Spencer can bounce back from this and be right in the mix again.
The thing about wrestling is that anybody, no matter how good they are, can be pinned. I would bet David Taylor has only been pinned one time since 8th grade and it was on the biggest stage. I imagine most people thought the same thing about David Taylor when Jenkins packed him up.
I thought of the exact same thing!, and the funny thing is, the moves were earily similar.
If I hear an unbeatable person has been pinned, my first guess would be cradle, and my second guess would be headlock.
My third guess would be: IMar doesn’t want to get up.
My first guess would be Nolf, and my second guess would be Cenzo.
Convincing win by Fix, dominated in all positions even with the low score. Desanto needs lots of mat work, he used a tight waist that was effective for all of 15 seconds and turtles on the bottom.
But DeSanto dominated in the "tie up and push opponent to the edge of the mat and hope to get a stall call" position.
Pokies made a statement yesterday, they want that second place trophy!!!
I agree about DeSanto pushing Fix around, but at the end of the day I don't think he attempted one shot (can't remember) and I do think Fix got screwed out of a TD. I don't know how that wasn't called a TD. Having said all of that I still think that match is a toss up if they meet again.
Yeah, I thought Fix had the takedown as well. It should be fun. Throw in RBY as well.
